As president of national advertising sales, Arlene Manos is responsible for overseeing the advertising sales efforts — including national, digital and branded entertainment — for AMC Networks’ popular and award-winning national cable television networks AMC, IFC, SundanceTV, WE tv, and BBC AMERICA (operated through a joint venture with BBC Worldwide). She has held her current position since 2002.

Manos joined AMC Networks Advertising Sales to launch ad sales at AMC and oversee sponsorships for WE tv. In 2003, Manos spearheaded WE tv’s transition to become a fully ad supported network. In 2010 she began overseeing the digital ad sales for IFC and SundanceTV, and she started leading all advertising efforts for the two networks when they transitioned to an ad-supported model in 2011 and 2013, respectively. She began overseeing the advertising efforts of BBC AMERICA in 2014 after an equity stake of the network was acquired from BBC Worldwide.

Manos joined AMC Networks from A&E Television Networks where she held a number of sales management positions, most recently as senior vice president of national advertising sales. Prior to A&E, she served as an associate publisher of Manhattan, Inc. magazine, a retail sales manager at WABC-TV in New York, and as an account executive at CBS Cable.

Manos serves on the National Sales Advisory Committee of the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau (CAB) and is a past president and board member of the Advertising Women of New York (AWNY). In 2011, Manos was honored as a “Trailblazer Mom” in the AWNY Working Mothers of the Year Awards. She has also been recognized by various industry publications and groups, including Variety’s Power of Women New York Impact Report 2016; as a Multichannel News Wonder Woman; and CableFAX 100 and CableFAX’s Most Powerful Women in Cable. Manos earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Trinity College in Washington, DC.
