As president of advertising sales for AMC Networks, Scott Collins is responsible for overseeing the advertising sales efforts — including national, digital and branded entertainment — of the company’s popular and award-winning national cable television networks AMC, IFC, SundanceTV, WE tv, and BBC AMERICA (operated through a joint venture with BBC Studios) and BBC World News. He was named to this post in the beginning of 2017.
Collins previously served as executive vice president of AMC Networks Advertising Sales. In this role, he managed the day-to-day sales operations and ad sales business development. He joined AMC Networks Advertising Sales in 2008 as SVP, Advertising Sales of WE tv.
Prior to AMC Networks, Collins served as vice president of advertising sales for NBC Universal Cable Entertainment, where he led national sales for USA NETWORK, SCIFI Channel, Sleuth and Chiller. Prior to the NBC merger with Universal Television, Collins served as vice president of specials for both USA and SCIFI representing miniseries and events such as Steven Spielberg’s Taken and Mark Burnett’s Eco Challenge. Earlier in his career, Collins worked at A&E Television Networks as an account executive for A&E and the History Channel. He also spent 11 years in television syndication at Eyemark /Group W as an account executive. Collins started his career as a research analyst at Nielson Media Research. In 2011, he was named Sales Executive of the Year by CableFAX and was inducted into the CableFAX Sales Hall of Fame in 2012.
