New to AMC Global, “Talking Dead” to Air in Conjunction With “Fear the Walking Dead”

New York, 11th January 2016 – AMC Global today announced the exclusive premieres of new and returning original series.  The eight-part espionage drama starring Hugh Laurie (“House”) and Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers), “The Night Manager,” will premiere beginning Monday 22nd February in AMC Global markets (local airdates and times vary by market).  Season two of “Fear the Walking Dead”, the companion series to the global hit “The Walking Dead,” will debut on Sunday 10th April at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT – simultaneous to the AMC U.S. premiere – with repeats later that evening in primetime in local markets (where applicable). “Talking Dead,” the lively review show hosted by Chris Hardwick, will be seen in conjunction with each episode of “Fear the Walking Dead” and will air exclusively for the first time in most AMC Global markets throughout season two (times to be announced).  AMC Global has also released first-look photos from the sets of “The Night Manager” and “Fear the Walking Dead.”

A contemporary interpretation of John le Carré’s espionage novel, “The Night Manager” follows former British soldier Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) who is recruited by intelligence operative Angela Burr (Olivia Colman) to infiltrate the inner circle of international businessman Richard Onslow Roper (Hugh Laurie) and detonate the unholy alliance he has ministered between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade.  To reach the heart of Roper’s vast empire, Pine must withstand the suspicious interrogations of his venal chief of staff, Major Corkoran (Tom Hollander) and the allure of his beautiful girlfriend Jed (Elizabeth Debicki).  In his quest to do the right thing, Pine must first become a criminal himself. Executive producers include John Le Carré, Simon Cornwell, Stephen Cornwell and Stephen Garrett.  Writer David Farr also serves as an executive producer as does Academy Award® winner Susanne Bier, who serves as director. “The Night Manager is a co-production between AMC, BBC One and The Ink Factory.

“Fear the Walking Dead” will air its second season of 15 episodes in two parts, beginning with the first of seven episodes on Sunday 10th April. The remaining eight episodes will air later in 2016.  When it debuted worldwide, season one of the series achieved record-breaking performance, making AMC Global a top 10 network for the night in key regional markets including Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.  The drama also delivered the highest-rated first season of any series in U.S. cable history among total viewers and all key demos in live + 3 ratings.

Executive produced by showrunner Dave Erickson, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert, “Fear the Walking Dead” stars Kim Dickens as Madison, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Ruben Blades as Daniel, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia, Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris and Colman Domingo as Strand.  The series began production on season two last month in the Baja peninsula in Mexico at Baja Studios, home to some of the greatest ocean-set films in recent years.  Season one ended with Madison, Travis and their extended family taking temporary shelter in Strand’s gated estate overlooking the Pacific Ocean. As civil unrest continues to grow and the dead take over Los Angeles, Strand prepares to escape to “Abigail,” his large yacht moored offshore.

Entertainment One (eOne) handles the international distribution of “Fear the Walking Dead” outside of the AMC Global footprint.

New to AMC Global, “Talking Dead” is hosted by Chris Hardwick, who welcomes cast members, producers and celebrity guests to talk about the latest episode of “Fear” and presents behind-the-scenes features and interviews.
