AMC Makes History as the First Cable Network Ever to Win the Emmy® Award for Outstanding Drama Series for “Mad Men” for Four Consecutive Years

“MAD MEN” AND “THE WALKING DEAD” ALSO EARN CREATIVE ARTS EMMY® WINS

 

Los Angeles, CA – September 18, 2011 – On Sunday, September 18, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the winners for the 63rd Annual Emmy® Awards, with AMC making history again as the first cable network ever to win Outstanding Drama Series for its original series, “Mad Men,” for four consecutive years.

“Mad Men” and “The Walking Dead” also captured Creative Arts Emmys, which were awarded last weekend, including Outstanding Hairstyling for the “Mad Men” episode Christmas Comes But Once a Year, and Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie or a Special for “The Walking Dead” episode Days Gone Bye.

The most Emmy-nominated basic cable network, AMC received a total of three Awards. Since 2007, the network has garnered 26 Emmy wins.
