CHICAGO, IL – June 15, 2011 – At the 2011 Cable Show, AMC Networks is unveiling its new look at the company?s Cable Show booth, #931 (level 3 of the South Building). AMC Networks, Inc., parent company of AMC, IFC, Sundance Channel, WE tv, and IFC Films, is showcasing brand-defining original programming, talent and initiatives. Over the past year, the company has achieved impressive success driven by AMC?s “The Walking Dead” and “The Killing”; IFC?s scripted comedies, “Portlandia” and “Onion News Network”; WE tv?s breakout hit series, “Braxton Family Values”; Sundance Channel?s social media phenomenon “Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys” and Golden Globe-winning “Carlos”; and record-breaking views on IFC Films? AMC PREMIERES “MOB WEEK”

From August 1st – August 7th, AMC will debut its first “Mob Week” movie marathon dedicated to celebrating the greatest mob movies of all time. The stunt will capitalize on the network?s exclusive U.S. cable rights to The Godfather (1972), The Godfather: Part II (1974) and The Godfather: Part III (1990), which the network has locked up through December 2019. Anchoring the week will be a short-form documentary series that will take viewers inside the inner workings of the Mafia and will explore what real mob life is like. Featuring interviews with some of the most notorious mafia personalities today, the series will explore a wide range of topics: from the family business and the mob code to what it?s like to become a made man. Additional movies airing during AMC?s Mob Week: Goodfellas, The Untouchables, Scarface, Donnie Brascoand Pulp Fiction.

Season 2 of “Portlandia” Premieres in January on IFC

Stars of IFC?s (www.ifc.com) popular original series, “Portlandia,” back for a second season in January, will host a Cable Show happy hour today from 3-4 pm at the AMC Networks booth. Attendees will have the chance to meet Fred and Carrie and sip signature cocktails, like “Portlandia Rocks,” and enjoy “Bridge City Burgers” and “Cacao” truffles.

SUNDANCE CHANNEL PARTNERS WITH HSN ON EPISODE OF NEW ORIGINAL SERIES, “QUIRKY”

Sundance Channel?s original series “Quirky” is partnering with multichannel retailer HSN on a unique product integration. The upcoming series showcases 24-year-old entrepreneur Ben Kaufman, who is democratizing innovation, and turning it into a thriving business platform. In this cross-promotional episode, Kaufman, who debuted on HSN in January 2011, will appear live on HSN to sell an invention nurtured by Quirky, Kaufman?s company and website of the same name.

In each episode of Sundance Channel?s six-part series, the Quirky team evaluates and selects one brand new product idea submitted by its online community to advance through the development process. Quirky?s team of expert engineers and designers collaborate with the online community to bring the next new product to life. From sketch to store, the Quirky global community collaborates on every aspect of invention. In this Sundance Channel-HSN product integration, an inventor?s aspirations are realized. This appearance marks Kaufman?s return to HSN. Quirky premieres on Sundance Channel on August 30th.

SUNDANCE SELECTS BRINGS ACCLAIMED 3D DOCUMENTARY TO VOD WERNER HERZOG?S “CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS” PREMIERES THIS FALL

This fall, IFC Films? sister distribution label, Sundance Selects, will premiere its first 3D documentary, Werner Herzog?s “Cave of Forgotten Dreams,” on VOD. Currently playing in theaters, “Cave of Forgotten Dreams,” is an indie box office hit. This critically acclaimed documentary grants audiences remarkable access into the Chauvet-Pont-d?Arc cave in southern France, which holds the earliest known visions of mankind.

Sundance Selects delivers prestige theatrical releases to a national audience using both theatrical and the video on demand platforms. In January 2006, Sundance Selects? sister distribution label, IFC Films, was the first to pioneer the day and date model using both the theatrical and on demand platforms to deliver critically acclaimed independent film.
