AMC Premieres AMC Storymakers

Hosted by Shootout’s Peter Bart and Peter Guber StoryMakers Premieres as Recurring Primetime Specials in ’09

New York, NY – January 27, 2009 – AMC announced today that entertainment industry veterans and hosts of AMC’s popular Sunday morning series, Shootout, are heading to primetime to host, AMC StoryMakers, a series of programming specials in 2009. AMC StoryMakers features an intimate gathering of A-list actors in a round table discussion about current entertainment headlines. Topics range from Oscars, summer movies and holiday films to the actors craft, our guests’ current projects and the general state of the entertainment industry. The first AMC StoryMakers special premieres Friday, February 13th at 8PM EST. Future AMC StoryMakers specials are slated over the summer and holidays.

"AMC wanted to create a venue for two of the industry’s most influential personalities to talk to the people who are out there making the stories we love. The roundtable format allows us to present something that is much more about honoring the craft of acting and filmmaking in a conversational setting. Peter Guber and Peter Bart can facilitate this kind of a conversation in a way that nobody else can, and I think our audience will really appreciate that. This will not be your typical interview show," said Joel Stillerman, SVP of original programming, production and digital content.

In October of 2003, Shootout premiered as a half-hour weekly talk show series. Over the course of the six year run, Shootout has gained both critical and industry acclaim for its timely and relevant discussion topics and has featured many of Hollywood’s hottest actors, directors and producers, including: Denzel Washington, Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie, Mel Gibson, Steven Spielberg, Mike Myers, Nicholas Cage, Edward Norton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Dustin Hoffman, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L.
