Starring Sandra Oh and Jodie ComerKilling Eve centers on two women; Eve (Oh) is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle (Comer) is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Penned by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) and based on the novellas by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve will follow these two women, equally obsessed with each other, as they go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.

Sarah Barnett, President and General Manager, BBC AMERICA, said, “Coming on the heels of Orphan Black and forerunning Doctor Who’s first ever female Doctor, Killing Eve sees a genius bunch of women transcend the predictable with this funny and heart-stopping, twisted cat-and-mouse thriller. It is a startling, fresh take on the cop/assassin genre that is on-the-edge-of-your-seat entertaining and very funny.”

Continuing a tradition of putting women center frame, the series premiere episode sees MI5 security officer Eve Polastri is bored in her job and yearns for a more exciting life. When a Russian politician is murdered, Eve is tasked with protecting the only witness and soon finds herself on a collision course with a violent and extraordinary assassin, Villanelle.

Co-starring in the series are Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter, True Blood) who plays Carolyn, Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Downward Dog) as Eve’s assistant Elena, Kim Bodnia (The Bridge) as Konstantin and David Haig (Four Weddings and a FuneralPenny Dreadful) as Eve’s colleague Bill. Further cast includes Darren Boyd as Frank, Sean Delaney as Kenny, and Owen McDonnell as Niko.

Killing Eve was commissioned in 2016 for BBC AMERICA by President and GM Sarah Barnett, and Nena Rodrigue, EVP of Original Programming, Acquisitions and Production; executive produced by two incredibly accomplished women, Sally Woodward Gentle and Phoebe Waller-Bridge – the latter of whom also wrote and served as showrunner for the series; and stars Golden Globe-winner Sandra Oh and BAFTA-nominee Jodie Comer

The series is produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd. for BBC AMERICA. In addition to Waller-Bridge and Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris also serves as an executive producer, with Colin Wratten as producer and Sandra Oh as associate producer.
