CBS EUROPA EXCLUSIVELY PREMIERES THE ACCLAIMED AMC ORIGINAL DRAMA SERIES “HALT AND CATCH FIRE” ON 12th APRIL AT 21:00 CET IN POLAND

Drama set in the fast-moving early days of the personal computer industry is Executive Produced by the award winning team behind “Breaking Bad”

London, UK – 25 March 2015 – CBS AMC Networks EMEA Channels Partnership, a joint venture between AMC Networks International – Zone and CBS Studios International announced today that it will premiere the acclaimed new drama series “Halt and Catch Fire” exclusively on 12th April at 21:00 CET on CBS Europa in Poland.

From AMC Studios, “Halt and Catch Fire” received its worldwide premiere last year. The second season is currently in production. The series is distributed internationally by leading independent studio Entertainment One (eOne).

Alina Florea, Director of Programming, CBS Channels at AMC Networks International – Zone said, “We are thrilled to be able to introduce “Halt and Catch Fire” to the Polish audience as we continue to invest in top quality content for our CBS portfolio in Poland. Our recent acquisitions include such CBS Studios International titles as “The Borgias” for CBS Europa, “The Good Wife” for CBS Drama and “NCIS” and “CSI: NY” for CBS Action. AMC original “Halt and Catch Fire” is a country premiere as well as the first time that CBS Europa airs a first run content.”

The one-hour 10-episode drama captures the rise of the PC era in the early 1980s, focused on four primary characters attempting to innovate against the changing backdrop of technology and Texas’ Silicon Prairie. The series was created by Chris Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers and executive produced by Cantwell, Rogers, showrunner Jonathan Lisco (“Southland”) and Gran Via Productions’ Mark Johnson (“Breaking Bad,” “Rectify,” Diner, Rain Man) and Melissa Bernstein (“Breaking Bad,” “Rectify”). The series stars Joe MacMillan (Lee Pace), Gordon Clark (Scoot McNairy), Donna Clarke (Kerry Bishé), Cameron Howe (Mackenzie Davis) and John Bosworth (Toby Huss).

“Halt and Catch Fire” has been enthusiastically received by U.S. television critics.  US Magazine described it as a “surprisingly exhilarating tech drama” and CT News.com called it “a genre-busting concoction that has been very stylishly put together.”  The Chicago Sun Times said:  “The action unfurls a mere 30 years ago, but it may as well be the Dark Ages when viewed through today’s technology-dependent lens. That’s a big part of what makes the show such fun.” The Wall Street Journal predicted that “‘Halt and Catch Fire’ will give the 1980s the type of iconic-age treatment that another AMC show, ‘Mad Men’ gave to the 1960s.”

New episodes of “Halt and Catch Fire” will debut every Sunday at 21:00 CET.
