The New Ten-Part Documentary is Co-Produced with Foxtel Australia and DRG, Along with Emporium Productions
London, 21 April 2016. CBS Reality, owned by CBS Studios International and AMC Networks International – UK, announced today the premiere of original crime series, “Murderers and their Mothers” on 15 May at 10:00pm in the UK.
The 10, one hour episodes will be presented by Donal MacIntyre (“Donal MacIntyre: Unsolved”) and will reveal startling new facts about the disturbing childhoods and maternal relationships of notorious killers from the UK and around the world. This is a rarefied field of criminology and psychology, and each unique programme will bring new theories and insights to the table. Complementing each linear episode, 30-minute podcasts will also be made available with Donal and fellow experts analysing these horrific cases further.

Throughout the series Donal will be in conversation with his colleague from Birmingham City University, Dr. Elizabeth Yardley, Associate Professor of Criminology and Director of the Centre for Applied Criminology. The murderers investigated in the first part of the series include Daniel Bartlam: ‘The “Coronation Street” Killer’; Fred and Rosemary West: ‘Killer Couple’; Jed Allen: ‘The “Wolverine” Killer’; Harold Shipman: ‘The Angel of Death’; Joachim Knychala: ‘Frankenstein’ and Dennis Nilsen: ‘The Kindly Killer’.
“Murderers and their Mothers” is a co-production with Foxtel Australia and DRG. The series is produced by Emporium Productions. The series will air in two parts, beginning with the first six episodes in May, with the remaining episodes later in 2016.
