Sunrise, FL (March 20, 2000) FOX Sports Net has something for all sports fans in April. With the 2000 Major League Baseball regular season underway in April, FOX Sports Net will bring baseball fans 28 live match ups featuring 16 Florida Marlins, 9 Tampa Bay Devil Rays and 3 FOX Thursday Night Baseball telecasts. This schedule includes 6 doubleheaders on FOX Sports Net in April.
The NHL’s Florida Panthers will wind up their regular season on FOX Sports Net with four televised games in April. The Panthers will continue their Stanley Cup pursuit and FOX Sports Net will follow the first two rounds of the playoffs. The telecast schedule is to be announced in the coming weeks
On Tuesday, April 25th, FOX Sports Net will debut FOX SPORTS NEWS live every night at 10PM and Midnight, or immediately following any live programming scheduled at that time. Veteran sportscaster Keith Olbermann teams up with Kevin Frazier for the 10pm show and Chris Myers and Steve Lyons partner for the Midnight show. FOX Sports Net Baseball Today will also debut April 25th at 5:00pm with the latest Major League Baseball news from around the country.
NCAA baseball fans can enjoy six live telecasts featuring the University of Miami, the University of South Florida, the University of Central Florida and Florida State University. In-state rivalries on FOX Sports Net include #1 FSU heading south to Miami to take on the 1999 defending champion Hurricanes and the USF Bulls play host to the UCF Knights.
Other highlights of the month include live PGA Tour coverage of the MCI Classic from Hilton Head, the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic and the Shell Houston Open. Tennis fans can hit the court with live coverage of the WTA Tour Family Circle Cup from Hilton Head. The NFL Europe season gets started in April and FOX Sports Net will bring fans a live matchup between Rhein and Amsterdam. FOX Sports Net will also televise the “Heisman Trophy” of college basketball with the John R. Wooden Awards Show from Los Angeles.
Weekly FOX Sports Net shows include the new SPORTS GENIUSES weeknights at 6:00pm, The Last Word with Jim Rome weeknights at 6:30 and 11:30pm, Marlins Weekly Sunday mornings at 10:30am followed by Devil Rays Magazine at 11:00am, The Daily Sports Source weekdays at Noon, Goin’ Deep with Chris Myers on Sunday evenings, Sunday Night Fights at 8:00pm,Hardcore Baseball on Tuesdays at 5:30pm and many more action-packed weekly shows for all sports fans.
