IFC and Sundance Channel Create Customized Vignette Series for new Las Vegas Luxury Hotel, The Cosmopolitan

NEW YORK, NY – December 29, 2010 – IFC (www.ifc.com) and Sundance Channel (www.sundancechannel.com) have teamed up with The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in a unique media and content partnership to create a six-episode vignette series, "Inspired Experiences," highlighting the distinct and compelling features of this new independent, luxury resort. In addition, IFC and Sundance will produce two, 60-second news pieces featuring footage of the hotel’s New Year’s Eve weekend events including red carpet coverage of an exclusive dinner event created by premier party planner Colin Cowie and a concert with headliners JAY-Z and Coldplay.

"This partnership is a great example of how IFC and Sundance Channel work with brands to create customized content that complements their overall media mix and delivers an upscale, influential audience," said Vanessa Benfield, senior vice president of sponsorship sales, IFC and Sundance Channel. "The Cosmopolitan’s independent sensibility makes our networks perfect partners to showcase the hotel and the personalities associated with it."

Each of the two-minute vignettes within the "Inspired Experiences" series highlights imaginative, chic and bold elements seen throughout The Cosmopolitan. From the guest rooms to the collection of restaurants and restaurateurs making their Las Vegas debut to the one-of-a-kind parking garage art installation and multi-level crystal chandelier, the vignettes capture the intricate design details of the resort which make it a unique visitor experience and set it apart from any other property on the Las Vegas Strip.

The vignettes are currently airing on IFC and Sundance Channel and will continue to air through the first quarter of 2011. The one-minute news clips highlighting The Cosmopolitan’s New Year’s festivities will air throughout January.

"Inspired Experiences"

Create
One of The Cosmopolitan’s most unexpected exhibitions is found in the parking garage. The project, WALLWORKS, features installations by street artists Shepard Fairey (represented on-camera by Dan Flores of Obey Giant), RETNA, Kenny Scharf and Shinique Smith. Create features a conversation with the artists, along with Art Production Fund co-founders and WALLWORKS curators Yvonne Force Villareal and Doreen Remen, presenting their passion for sharing inspired, timely work in the most surprising place.

Details
In Details, Lisa Marchese, senior vice president of brand marketing for The Cosmopolitan and interior architect, David Rockwell, explore the hotel’s unique and inspired design and curation. They reveal a singular guest experience that begins with an innovative column of digital art in the hotel lobby and continues through the bespoke details of all the hotel’s spaces, including a multi-level crystal chandelier.

Nourish
Saying The Cosmopolitan is at home all over the world is doubly true when it comes to food, yet bringing together a world of authentic flavors is just the start. The Cosmopolitan features innovative restaurants from some of the most renowned chefs in the country, including Scott Conant, Jose Andres, Bruce and Eric Bromberg, Costas Spiliadis, David Myers, and others. Nourish features several (Jonathan Segal, STK; The Bromberg Brothers, Blue Ribbon; Scott Conant, Scarpetta, D.O.C.G; David Myers, Comme Ca; Costas Spiliadis, Estiatorio Milos) of these brilliant culinary figures as they share their ideas, passions and a hearty meal at the home of The Cosmopolitan CEO John Unwin, discussing their zeal for food and what it means to be a partner in such a massive and magical collaboration.

Reveal
Reveal explores The Cosmopolitan’s collision of art and technology, showcasing the innovative and immersive digital columns that greet resort guests upon their entry into the hotel. Anthony Vitagliano, executive creative director at Digital Kitchen, explains the marriage of artistic vision and technical expertise that led to the innovative and absorbing creation.

Stay
From the moment The Cosmopolitan guests step into the lobby, they are transported to a modern sophistication that is an oasis in a sea of themed mediocrity. The pools, spas and grounds are part of the equation, but our cameras dig deeper into the luxuriously spacious and unexpectedly tranquil guestrooms. Interior architect, David Rockwell, tells the tale of urban sophistication, modern comfort, terrace views and hidden surprises thus far unknown on the Las Vegas Strip.

Taste

Born in New Jersey, educated at the table of their foodie family and trained at Le Cordon Bleu, brothers Bruce and Eric Bromberg and their Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill are the perfect embodiment of what makes The Cosmopolitan bold, unexpected and world-wise. Like the hotel, their foods are a surprising yet convincing mix of comfort and innovation, simplicity and sophistication. Throughout Taste they discuss their unique take on bold, disparate food pairings and the familial, community-oriented philosophy that have made the Blue Ribbon brand so successful.
