IFC ANNOUNCES TWO NEW ‘SLIGHTLY OFF’ COMEDY CRIB DIGITAL SERIES AND AN ON-AIR SUPER LATE-NIGHT EXTENSION, COMEDY CRIB: THE SHOW

NEW YORK – December 12, 2016 – IFC announced today that two new original series, Quirks and The Mirror, will premiere today, Monday, December 12 on the Comedy Crib (ifc.com/comedy-crib), the network’s online hub for original, short-form comedy. In addition to these newest digital series, the network also announced the premiere of Comedy Crib: The Show, a super-late, late-night on-air extension of the Comedy Crib featuring the best fan-favorite Comedy Crib content. The 30-minute program will premiere on Wednesday, December 21 at 4AM (really late Tuesday night – DVR-ing encouraged) and will air weekly.

Animated and voiced by comedian Kevin Tosi, Comedy Crib’s new animated series Quirks follows three friends who get themselves into precarious situations, including babysitting a parakeet, surviving the cold and meeting a superhero. The three-episode series will be accompanied by two stand-alone videos “Home Alone: Tea Time” and “Jesus Washes Some Feet.” In addition to animating and voicing the series, Tosi also wrote, directed, and produced Quirks.

Created and produced by Wham City!, The Mirror is a spoof of televangelist educational programming with both improvised and scripted humor. Starring and produced by Wham City!’s Cricket Arrison, Ben O’Brien, Alan Resnick and Robby Rackleff, the six-episode series is The Jim Bakker Show meets Mister Rogers Neighborhood sprinkled with elements of internet conspiracy videos. Rackleff also served as director and co-writer, alongside What City!’s Dina Kelberman. Wham City! is a comedy & video collective based in Baltimore known for their bizarre viral videos and absurdist presentational performances.

Comedy Crib: The Show will allow viewers the chance to watch popular sketches and episodes from past Crib series on-air for the first time. Each week a variety of short-form comedy content from series like Funny People Reading Books, Faeries, Bottled, Boxed In starring comedian Amy York Rubin, and many more will air in each packaged half-hour episode.

Since launching over a year ago, the IFC’s Comedy Crib has showcased over 25 exclusive webseries, including content from partners Above Average, UCB Comedy and the Annoyance Theatre, as well as original series from both established and up-and-coming comedians. With even more webseries on the horizon for 2017, the popular IFC.com destination will give visitors an endless variety of off-kilter content to binge and share.
