NEW YORK, NY, APRIL 3, 2018 – IFC Films Co-Presidents, Jonathan Sehring and Lisa Schwartz, today announced Laura Sok has been named vice president of publicity and promotion. She is responsible for creating and executing all national publicity and promotional campaigns for IFC Films, Sundance Selects and IFC Midnight titles. Based in New York, Laura reports directly to Jonathan Sehring and Lisa Schwartz.

“Laura’s exceptional track record of noteworthy publicity campaigns, including recent Oscar® nominees THE BIG SICK and I, TONYA, shows a brilliant understanding of the industry,” said Sehring and Schwartz. “Her proven media acumen will further elevate IFC Films’ reputation as a home for outstanding independent film.”

Since recently joining IFC Films, Laura has played a key role in the company’s most recent success,  Armando Iannucci’s THE DEATH OF STALIN, the widely-acclaimed political satire that is currently in wide release and has grossed nearly $4 million to date. Most recently, Sok was a Senior Publicist for Cinetic Media where she worked with for a wide portfolio of clients including NEON, Amazon, The Orchard, Netlix, IFC Films, Magnolia and National Geographic. There she contributed to theatrical and festival campaigns for films including THE BIG SICK, I, TONYA, SORRY TO BOTHER YOU, THE HERO, INGRID GOES WEST, PATTI CAKE$, THELMA, FIRST THEY KILLED MY FATHER and Sundance prize winner THE GUILTY. Previously, she served as the Vice President of Publicity for Cohen Media Group, developing and directing all national publicity theatrical and award campaigns for CMG titles including Oscar® nominee MUSTANG. Prior to CMG, she worked as an independent publicity consultant while living in the Netherlands. She was part of the International Publicity team for the 2015 edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam and has also held roles at Cinedigm Entertainment, Oscilloscope Laboratories, Relativity Media, IFC Films, and New Line Cinema.
