IFC FILMS PROMOTES DISTRIBUTION AND PUBLICITY EXECUTIVES

Mark Boxer Named Executive Vice President, Sales and Distribution

Lauren Schwartz Named Senior Vice President, Publicity and Promotions

NEW YORK, NY, June 14, 2017 – IFC Films Co-Presidents, Jonathan Sehring and Lisa Schwartz, today announced promotions for two key members of their executive team: Mark Boxer has been elevated to Executive Vice President of Sales and Distribution, and Lauren Schwartz has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Publicity and Promotions.

“We’re proud to acknowledge the hard work and expertise of Mark and Lauren with these well-deserved promotions,” said Sehring and Schwartz. “They have been integral to establishing IFC Films’ reputation as a curator of outstanding independent cinema and a trusted and experienced partner to emerging and established talent.”

Long-time IFC Films executive Mark Boxer oversees theatrical, non-theatrical and Canadian distribution of all IFC Films, as well as titles distributed under the Sundance Selects and IFC Midnight distribution labels. Boxer has been the key architect behind the distribution strategy and release of the company’s biggest films, including most recent releases WAKEFIELD starring Bryan Cranston and CHUCK starring Liev Schreiber and Elisabeth Moss; critical hit PERSONAL SHOPPER with Kristen Stewart; the Oscar® winning BOYHOOD; Michael Winterbottom’s THE TRIP series; and Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg’s award-winning documentary, WEINER. Prior to joining IFC Films, Boxer worked for Artisan Entertainment covering Central and East Coast film distribution and sales for over 50 markets. Collaborating closely with Sehring and Schwartz, Boxer helped revolutionize independent film distribution by pioneering the day and date model to theatre exhibitors.

As head of publicity and promotions for IFC Films, Sundance Selects and IFC Midnight, Lauren Schwartz has been responsible for creating and executing promotional campaigns that have resulted in wide critical acclaim and prestigious awards for a broad range of films, including the Oscar® nominated 45 YEARS, with Charlotte Rampling; Oscar® and Golden Globe® winning BOYHOOD; Oscar® nominated FINDING VIVIAN MAIER; and Cannes Palme d’Or winner I, DANIEL BLAKE. Prior to joining IFC Films, Schwartz was Publicity Director for Oscilloscope Laboratories, where she managed the publicity for all theatrical releases, including the multiple Oscar® nominated THE MESSENGER.

Coming off its most successful year in its history, IFC Films’ most recent releases include critically acclaimed PERSONAL SHOPPER starring Kristen Stewart and directed by Olivier Assayas; CHUCK, the real-life inspiration for Rocky Balboa; and WAKEFIELD, starring Bryan Cranston, where he was hailed by The Hollywood Reporter for delivering a “tour de force performance.”
