IFC FILMS TAKES NORTH AMERICAN RIGHTS TO ANGUS MACLACHLAN’S GOODBYE TO ALL THAT

NEW YORK, NY (September 29, 2014) – IFC Films announced today that the company is acquiring North American rights to Angus MacLachlan’s GOODBYE TO ALL THAT. The film, with a screenplay by MacLachlan, stars Paul Schneider, Anna Camp, Michael Chernus, Heather Graham, Ashley Hinshaw, Heather Lawless, Melanie Lynskey, Audrey Scott, Amy Sedaris and Celia Weston. GOODBYE TO ALL THAT was produced by Mindy Goldberg and Anne Carey and executive produced by Mark Clein, Ethan Leder and MacLachlan. The film had its world premiere at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, where Paul Schneider won the Best Actor in a Narrative Feature award. GOODBYE TO ALL THAT will have a day and date release in December.

GOODBYE TO ALL THAT is a modern and sexy tale of marriage, fatherhood, and life in the internet age – a time when old relationships and connections suddenly pop up on our laptop, and the walls between privacy and revelation seem transparent to the point of almost disappearing because everyone’s business is known. The film follows Otto Wall, a suburban man who is blindsided when his marriage of 11 years falls apart. Suddenly thrust into the dating world, Otto finds an unlimited supply of smart, thinking, willing women. But he finally realizes that the most important female in his life is his nine-year-old daughter.

“Angus’ screenplay for GOODBYE TO ALL THAT is as heartfelt and subtle as his breakout, Junebug. He proves himself here equally as impressive a director as writer” says Jonathan Sehring, President of Sundance Selects/IFC Films.

The deal was negotiated with ICM Partners on behalf of the filmmakers.
