Film Stars Katie Holmes, William Hurt, Allison Janney and Ben Whishaw

NEW YORK, NY (August 14, 2014) – IFC Films announced today that the company is acquiring North American rights to writer-director Christian Camargo’s DAYS AND NIGHTS. The film, with a screenplay by Camargo, stars Katie Holmes, William Hurt, Allison Janney, Cherry Jones, Russell Means, Michael Nyqvist, Jean Reno, Juliet Rylance, Mark Rylance and Ben Whishaw. DAYS AND NIGHTS was produced by Juliet Rylance and Barbara Romer. The film will be released theatrically and on Video On Demand on September 26, 2014.

Set in rural New England in 1980s, DAYS AND NIGHTS centers around a fading movie star who brings her paramour to her lakeside estate to visit her ailing brother and fledgling artist son over Memorial Day weekend. Inspired by Anton Chekhov’s “The Seagull,” reckless desire wreaks havoc and a disastrous turn of events leads the family from dysfunction to heartbreak.

“Christian Camargo has crafted a beautiful film with fantastic performances from every single actor in the film,” says Jonathan Sehring, President of Sundance Selects/IFC Films.

The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, SVP of Acquisitions from Sundance Selects/IFC Films with ICM Partners on behalf of the filmmakers.

IFC Films is a sister label to IFC Midnight and Sundance Selects, and is owned and operated by AMC Networks Inc.
