EW YORK, NY (October 20, 2014) – IFC Films announced today that the company is acquiring U.S. rights to Oren Moverman’s TIME OUT OF MIND. The film, written and directed by Moverman, stars Richard Gere, Ben Vereen, Jena Malone, Kyra Sedgwick, Jeremy Strong, Michael Kenneth Williams, Yul Vazquez, Coleman Domingo, Geraldine Hughes, and Steve Buscemi. TIME OUT OF MIND was produced by Gere, Blackbird Films’ Lawrence Inglee, Caroline Kaplan, Edward Walson, Cold Iron Pictures’ Miranda Bailey and River Road Entertainment’s Bill Pohlad, and executive produced byMohammed Al Turki, Zak Tucker, Cold Iron Pictures’ Amanda Marshall and Eva Maria Daniels. The film had its world premiere last month at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, and its U.S. premiere at the New York Film Festival. The company is planning a 2015 theatrical release for the film.
TIME OUT OF MIND follows George (Gere), a desperate man who is thrust onto New York City’s gritty and unforgiving streets. He seeks refuge at an intake center for homeless men at Bellevue, and through a series of events,begins to repair the relationship with his estranged daughter.
“TIME OUT OF MIND is for me 10 years in the making and is certainly one of my most personal films. I am thrilled to be working with IFC Films. Oren and I can think of no better partner than IFC to support and embrace our film,” said Gere, who produced and stars in the film.

The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, SVP of Acquisitions from Sundance Selects/IFC Films with WME Global, ICM Partners and Paradigm on behalf of the filmmakers.
Gere is a four-time Golden Globe nominee for Best Actor, and a winner for his performance in CHICAGO. His film credits also include ARBITRAGE; I’M NOT THERE; PRETTY WOMAN; PRIMAL FEAR; BREATHLESS; THE COTTON CLUB; AMERICAN GIGOLO; and AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN; and DAYS OF HEAVEN.
Moverman’s previous directorial efforts include the Oscar-nominated film THE MESSENGER starring Woody Harrelson, Ben Foster and Samantha Morton; and RAMPART starring Woody Harrelson, Robin Wright and Sigourney Weaver
