IFC’s LAUREN BURACK PROMOTED TO SVP, BRAND & CONSUMER MARKETING

NEW YORK, NY – February 23, 2017 – Lauren Burack has been promoted to the position of senior vice president, brand and consumer marketing for IFC, it was announced today by Blake Callaway, IFC’s executive vice president, marketing & digital media, to whom she will continue to report. In her new role, Burack will oversee all IFC’s consumer-facing marketing campaigns, brand communication, events, promotions and partnerships.

“Lauren has been an integral part of the consumer marketing team, and is a driving force behind the establishment of IFC as a smart, influential comedy brand,” said Callaway. “Her creativity, focus on results, and enthusiastic commitment to all things ‘slightly off’ helps keep the IFC brand vibrant.”

Burack previously served as IFC’s vice president, consumer marketing, responsible for the consumer campaigns for all network priorities, including show launches of IFC originals such as Portlandia, Stan Against Evil, Maron and Documentary Now!, the latter of which earned both a Cannes Lion and an Effie award.

In her new role, Burack will continue to oversee all consumer-facing brand communications and marketing campaigns, working across all internal departments. She will also be tasked with creating innovative partner offerings that amplify the brand across MVPD platforms.  Burack will also take on a role in the development of IFC’s off-air creative.

Burack joined IFC in 2004, and has held various roles of increasing responsibility within the marketing team since that time. Prior to joining IFC, Burack worked in marketing at Court TV (now truTV). In 2010 Burack was named as one of PromaxBDA’s “13 Under 30” Next-Gen Marketing Executives, and in 2013 she was named as one of Multichannel News’ “40 Under 40” Emerging Executives Making an Impact.  Burack is a long-time member of the Television Academy.

IFC is among the strongest comedy brands on television, with signature shows including the Peabody and Emmy Award-winning Portlandia, with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, whose seventh season is currently airing on IFC, and new series Brockmire, starring Hank Azaria and Amanda Peet, premiering on Wednesday, April 5. Additionally, IFC will air the upcoming 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards live on Saturday, February 25.
