IT’S OFFICIAL! HIGH TIMES MAGAZINE APPROVES IFC’s COMEDY BANG! BANG! IFC IS STOKED!

NEW YORK, NY – JULY 10, 2015 — IFC and HIGH TIMES magazine have partnered to support the new season of the network’s comedy series, Comedy Bang! Bang! airing every Thursday night at 10:30 pm ET/PT.  This season, host Scott Aukerman welcomes new musical co-star and former Cannabis Cup winner, Kid Cudi.  In a nod to the show’s ‘trippy’ vibe, multi-platform advertising for the new season includes “Approved by HIGH TIMES” messaging featured on outdoor billboards, on-air on IFC, online at IFC.com and hightimes.com, in the magazine, and across each partner’s social media platforms.

In addition, today, 7/10 (spelled OIL upside down), IFC is hosting a “Breakfast with Comedy Bang! Bang!” marathon honoring the unofficial pot holiday, “Dab Day” which celebrates the growing use of THC-laden oils and concentrates.

Commented Blake Callaway, IFC’s EVP of marketing and digital media, “We’ve always suspected that Comedy Bang! Bang! is best enjoyed with herbal treats so teaming with HIGH TIMES to support the show made perfect sense for our likeminded audiences.”

In season three of Comedy Bang! Bang!, anti-drug spokesperson Robert DeBiro (played by Adam Pally) visited the show to warn kids about the dangers of drugs, “Say no to drugs,” he said, and then continued, “Except weed.  Weed’s not that bad.  As long as you’re not operating a car or heavy machinery I don’t see any reason why you can’t toke a little.”  Sit back and enjoy the full clip here: https://www.ifc.com/comedy-bang-bang/videos/comedy-bang-bang-anti-drug-spokesman-robert-debiro

“As marijuana becomes more and more mainstream it only makes sense for HIGH TIMES to partner with a TV brand, and IFC and Comedy Bang! Bang! are a great fit,” said Zena Tsafrin, HIGH TIMES’ director of digital media.  “For years, Kid Cudi has been a fixture at our Cannabis Cups and in our magazine, and we’re thrilled to be here as he jumps into the hilarious world created by Scott Aukerman and the Comedy Bang! Bang! team.”
