Media Advisory – FOX Sports Net Florida Announces 2000 NFL Europe League Telecast Schedule

Live NFL Europe League debuts this Saturday, April 22nd at 1:00pm

Sunrise, FL – April 20, 2000 – FOX Sports Net Florida today announced its scheduled coverage of the NFL Europe League 2000 season. The action kicks off with a live telecast this Saturday, April 22nd at 1:00pm when the Rhein Fire, led by former University of Florida QB and 1996 Heisman Trophy winner, Danny Wuerffel, take on the Amsterdam Admirals. FOX Sports Net will televise an additional 8 NFL Europe League games this season.

Calling the action for this Saturday’s NFL Europe League game will be play-by-play man Dan Miller, joined by color analyst and former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end, Jeff Lageman. Future NFL Europe League broadcasters include Paul Kennedy, New York Giants defensive lineman Michael Strahan, Dallas Cowboys fullback Daryl Johnston and recently retired Carolina Panthers linebacker Kevin Greene.


Saturday night’s NFL Europe League game between the Rhein Fire (1-0) and the Amsterdam Admirals (0-1) will showcase several players from Florida colleges and high schools. Players such as QB Danny Wuerffel (Univ. of Florida and Ft. Walton Beach High School), DE Derrick Ham (Univ. of Miami and Merritt Island High School), Linebacker Deon Humphrey (Florida State and Lake Worth High School), WR Tony Gaiter (Univ. of Miami and Killian High School), DE Cedric Harden (Florida A & M) and WR Tim Alexander (Riverview High School).


Other current NFL Europe League players from Florida universities that will be seen on FOX Sports Net during NFL Europe League telecasts include the Berlin Thunder’s Lamont Green (Florida State) and Troy Saunders (Florida State); the Barcelona Dragons’ Patrick Bonner (Florida A & M) and Willie Cohens (Univ. of Florida); and the Scottish Claymores’ Cornell Green (Univ. of Central Florida), Jermaine Benoit (Univ. of Central Florida) and Tremayne Allen (Univ. of Florida).
