News 12 Networks Honored With 21 New York Emmy Nominations

WOODBURY, NEW YORK, February 22, 2000 – The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has honored News 12 Networks with a total of 21 Emmy Award nominations. Nominations were announced at a press reception this morning at Della Femina Restaurant in Manhattan. News 12 Long Island received 17 of the networks’ 21 nominations, News 12 the Bronx received three nominations, and News 12 New Jersey received one New York Emmy nomination.

News 12 Long Island received Emmy nominations in the following categories: Outstanding Continuing News Story for “A Courageous Journey,” Outstanding Single News Feature for “Goose on the Loose,” Outstanding Entertainment Programming for “Aboard the Bounty,” Outstanding Environmental Programming for “Earth Day Tips,” Outstanding Political Programming for “Take the Money and Run”, Outstanding Sports Programming for “The Pro,” Outstanding On Camera Achievement – News for Bob Butler, Outstanding On Camera Achievement – Programming for Bob Butler, Outstanding Writer for “Sunscreen,” Outstanding Camera – Spot or Single News Feature for “Goose on the Loose” and “The Sister’s of St. Dominic,” Outstanding Camera – Entertainment for “Aboard the Bounty,” Outstanding Camera – Sports for “The Pro,” Outstanding Editing for “Goose on the Loose,” Outstanding Editing – Entertainment for “Aboard the Bounty,” Outstanding Editing – Sports for “The Pro,” and Outstanding Audio/Sound for “Aboard the Bounty.”

News 12 The Bronx received Emmy nominations in the following categories: Outstanding Health/Sciences Programming for “Bone Marrow Transplant”, Outstanding Camera for “Closer to You”, and Outstanding Editor for “Closer to You”.

News 12 New Jersey received its Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding On-Camera Achievement: Sports Reporting for “The Passaic Wonder Team”.

The New York Emmy Awards are given for achievements originally broadcast or cablecast in New York or Northern New Jersey. Winners will be announced at the 43rd Annual New York Emmy Awards Ceremony on Sunday, April 16th at the Plaza New York City.
