WE tv Promotes Theresa Patiri to Senior Vice President, Production and Business Affairs

NEW YORK, NY – March 4, 2014 – WE tv has promoted Theresa Patiri to senior vice president of production and business affairs, effective immediately, up from vice president of production management and operations.  Patiri reports to WE tv’s President and General Manager, Marc Juris; she is based in the network’s NYC office.

“Theresa is a dynamic television executive whose efforts have considerably contributed to WE tv’s growth as a top destination for quality unscripted programming.  She has directly influenced WE tv’s success, helping to expand the network’s audience and grow revenue,” said Juris.  “As WE tv enters the scripted genre Theresa’s efforts will help guide the network towards even greater popularity and growth.”

In her new role, Patiri is responsible for all production management and business affairs for WE tv’s slate of original scripted and unscripted series and development projects.  She advises senior management on WE tv’s overall production and business affairs strategies including benefit-risk analysis, negotiates major deal points and ancillary rights for the network’s originals, and oversees and allocates WE tv’s programming budget.  She also oversees U.S. and international program sales, series syndication, rights and clearances, and is a key contact for studios, agents, production companies and talent representatives.

In her previous role, Patiri oversaw the day-to-day operations of WE tv’s unscripted originals, from production to completion including deliverables, budgets, schedules and quality control.  Prior to that she was the director of production, development and business affairs where she evaluated show ideas, managed outside production companies and oversaw series productions.  Prior to WE tv, Patiri worked at NBC in news and operations where she coordinated live events including the Olympics, Thanksgiving Day Parade and Christmas in Rockefeller Center.  She has also served in production and casting roles for popular shows including The Sopranos, Another World and All My Children.
