WE TV’s “MARRIAGE BOOT CAMP” GOES HIP HOP

POPULAR FRANCHISE SPINS ON WITH NEWEST SPINOFF AND NEW NIGHT!

NEW YORK, NY – December 11, 2018 – WE tv announced today the expansion of its popular “Marriage Boot Camp” franchise with its newest version, “Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition,” featuring famous couples from among hip hop’s elite. Premiering on Thursday, January 10th at 10pm, it marks the first time that the “Marriage Boot Camp” franchise, from Thinkfactory Media, will air as part of WE tv’s Thursday night lineup, which ranks as the #1 U.S. cable network for African-American adults.

“After successfully expanding ‘Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars’ franchise with our Family Edition, we’re excited to broaden this universe even further, giving our favorite hip hop stars a chance to ‘face the music’ when it comes to their fractured relationships,” said Marc Juris, president of WE tv. “When confronted with the reality of the intensive ‘Marriage Boot Camp’ process, we will see if these celebrity couples are permanently out of tune or if they can get back on the right track.”

Added Thinkfactory EVP, Creative Affairs Adam Freeman, “In extending the ‘Marriage Boot Camp’ franchise with WE tv, part of our mission as producers is to uniquely design each program around the various personalities, relationships and struggles being featured. The new series has been tailor-made to address the challenges specific to these hip hop stars, as they’ll encounter new obstacles and enter situations fans have never seen them in before.”

“Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition” follows five couples – Soulja Boy and Nia Riley, Waka Flocka and wife Tammy Rivera, Lil’ Mo and her husband, boxer Karl Dargan, Jessica Dime and her fiancé, professional basketball player Shawne Williams and Lil’ Fizz of B2K and Tiffany Campbell, as they undergo intense counseling and decide whether their relationship is worth saving or whether it’s time to part ways forever. Relationship experts Dr. Venus Nicolino and Dr. Ish Major return, along with “Divorce Court” Judge Lynn Toler.

“Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition” is produced for WE tv by Thinkfactory Media, an ITV America company, and executive produced by Adam Reed, Adam Freeman, Erin Richards, Antonia Mattia and Leslie Greif. Executive Producers for WE tv are Lauren P. Gellert and Angela Molloy.
