Jan Diedrichsen serves as the Executive Director of SundanceTV. From delivering critically acclaimed Emmy®, Golden Globe® and Peabody Award-winning television featuring some of the world’s most talented creators and performers, to showcasing some of the most compelling and iconic films across genres and generations, SundanceTV is a smart and thought-provoking entertainment destination and remains true to founder Robert Redford’s mission to celebrate creativity and distinctive storytelling through unique voices and narratives found in the best independent films.
SundanceTV is home to an impressive lineup of high-caliber dramas and documentary programming, including the Peabody Award-winning series “Deutschland 86,” the Leonardo DiCaprio executive produced documentary “Jonestown: Terror In The Jungle,” and critically acclaimed dramas “The Split” and “Liar.” SundanceTV’s newest series, premiering in 2019, is “State of The Union,” a ten-part short form comedy series written by the Academy Award®-nominated and BAFTA-winning writer Nick Hornby (“Brooklyn,” “An Education”) and starring Academy Award® and BAFTA-nominated Rosamund Pike (“Gone Girl,” “Hostiles”) and BAFTA-nominated Chris O’Dowd (“Bridesmaids,” “Get Shorty”).
Diedrichsen joined AMC Networks in 2001 and has previously served as senior vice president of affiliate marketing for AMC Networks Distribution, and later as the executive director of SundanceTV.
Prior to joining AMC Networks, Diedrichsen worked in Consumer Promotions at Fox Family Channel and Saban Entertainment, where he oversaw creative on consumer promotions for the worldwide phenomenon “The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.”
Diedrichsen is a graduate of Indiana University, with a BA in German and concentration in Film Studies.
