Fox Sports Net Florida Rings In The New Year With A Slam Dunk January Programming Schedule


Nightly Show Kicks Off 2001 Season Next Wednesday



SUNRISE, FL -Fox Sports Net Florida enters 2001 with a slam dunk programming lineup that includes 15 Florida Panthers telecasts, 39 NCAA Basketball games, a live telecast from Marlins Fan Fest, a Hurricanes college baseball special, live Super Bowl programming, a new weekly original one-hour program called Beyond the Glory, the return of Gulfstream Racing and more.

Florida Panthers fans can catch 15 games during January with match ups against Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Jose, Carolina, Philadelphia, Chicago, Buffalo, Boston, Washington, Ottawa and Tampa Bay.Panthers Preview brings fans 30 minutes of pregame analysis with Randy Moller, Jeff Rimer and Denis Potvin. Beginning in January, Inside the Panthers will be seen at a new time, Sunday mornings at 8:30am.

Fox Sports Net brings college hoops fans the hottest telecast schedule available, with 39 contests including three days that feature five NCAA match ups. The Hurricanes face Pittsburgh, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Providence and Connecticut along with USF taking on Southern Miss, California and Houston. Other action features key battles in the Big East, Pac-10, Big 12 and WAC. Weekly local college basketball shows return to Fox Sports Net beginning Saturday, Jan. 6th at 9:30am with the Seth Greenberg Show. The new Perry Clark Show brings UM fans the latest each Saturday morning at 10am beginning January 13th, followed by the return of the .Ferne Labati Show at 10:30am.

Beginning Jan. 3rd, Thoroughbred Racing from Gulfstream will return daily, except on Tuesdays, at 6:30pm. A new weekly original one-hour sports documentary program, Beyond the Glory, premieres Jan. 7th. Each Sunday night at 8pm. Beyond the Glory will showcase high profile athletes and will begin with an inside look at Deion “PrimeTime” Sanders (Jan. 7). Other January profiles include Isiah Thomas (Jan. 14), Lawrence Taylor (Jan. 21) and Roberto Duran (Jan. 28).

The MLB and NCAA baseball seasons are near and Fox Sports Net will bring Hurricanes fans a special University of Miami Baseball Preview Friday, Jan.19th at 5pm with replays on Jan. 20th at 3:30pm and Jan. 21st at 2pm. On Saturday, Jan. 20th at 11am, Florida Marlins fans can get a preview of the 2001 season with a special one-hour Florida Marlins Fan Fest live from this year’s event.

NFL fans can still count on Fox Sports Net for coverage in January with FOOTBALL TODAY live weeknights at 6pm. The Tom Coughlin Show and the Dave Wannstedt Show will wrap up the season on Jan. 7th and 14th at 9:30am and 10am, respectively, followed by NFL This Morning at 11am. Special Super Bowl coverage brings fans an inside look at the year’s biggest game with two shows. NFL This Morning-Super Bowl Special airs Jan. 28th live at 10am along with a special Post Super Bowl Special that night at 7pm.

SATURDAY MORNING COLLEGE KICKOFF bids farewell with a final show on Saturday, Jan. 6th at 10am. Fox Sports Net will telecast the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Banquet on Sunday, Jan. 14th at 6pm, hosted by Fox Sports Net’s Kevin Frazier and Kellen Winslow.

Weeknights at 7pm, FLORIDA SPORTS TONIGHT takes viewers around the state for a look at the day’s top sports news stories. Seven nights a week, the 11PM REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT gives viewers 30-minutes of the most extensive highlights, news and insight to all of Florida’s teams with anchors Ned Smith and Keith Lebowitz. The NATIONAL SPORTS REPORT brings sports fans the best national sports coverage Monday through Saturday at 10pm and Midnight. On Sundays, THE KEITH OLBERMANN EVENING NEWS offers a unique perspective on sports news at 10pm & Midnight.
