Bambino’s Curse Weblog Returns to FSNNEWENGLAND.COM

Curt Schilling Tells Fox Sports Net Across America
This is the Year

For the seventh straight season it’s Sox-Yankees for the East Division crown, and each day beginning on Friday, June 4, FSNNewengland.com will again have the unique perspective of loyal Red Sox fan Ed Cossette and his Bambino’s Curse weblog.

Through Bambino’s Curse, native New Englander Cossette captures the day-to-day experience of being a
life-long Red Sox fan, an experience marked by more lows than highs, but an experience that in the end has its own rewards. Cossette’s posts will appear on FSNnewengland.com first each day before being posted on http://babinoscurse.com the following day.

Said Cossette of posting a weblog named after the controversial curse, “Do I literally believe the demonic ghost of Babe Ruth flitters around Fenway trying to gum up the works? Well, of course not. For me, and perhaps for some of you as well, the Curse is my own memory, my own personal problem with summoning perseverance in the face of mortality. Like the adage says, the treasure is always found in the journey itself and not the final destination.”

I, MAX
FSN’s newest daily talk show, I, MAX, continues with the brash and opinionated Max Kellerman, alongside co-hosts Bill Wolff and Michael Holley. The unique format of the show pairs Kellerman against the world, represented by Holley and a special guest each day. Kellerman takes on the news of the day with his analysis and then gives “the world” a chance to respond. Each topic is judged as if it was a boxing match and is tallied throughout the show. I, MAX is the first FSN program to completely originate from New York City. The 30-minute telecast airs at 6:00 PM local.

Kellerman Quotes:
On Andy Pettitte ? “Andy Pettitte is one of the great winning pitchers of this generation? Right now he’s the balance of power in the NL Central.”
On golfer Michelle Wie trying to qualify for the men’s Amateur Public Links ? “What she will prove if she does play is that a fourteen-year-old girl can compete with the best men in the world. Golf is not a sport!”

World Quotes:

  • Holley (on Detroit Pistons forwards Rasheed Wallace and Ben Wallace): “That’s usually how you define greatness: can you make someone better. Rasheed doesn’t make you better, Ben Wallace does.”
  • Fox Sports Radio’s J.T. the Brick (on the New York Yankees): “I’m disgusted by it?These rent-a-wrecks that the Yankees are going out now and getting, they have no chemistry, it’s just a bunch of number three and four hitters trying to hit doubles and homeruns. There’s absolutely no chemistry, and I’m telling you something, this could be the kiss of death for the Yankees.”
  • J.T. the Brick: “Every time Sheffield, Matsui or ARod come up, they’re not trying to move runners over, they’re trying to pad their stats.”
