News 12 Networks Launch Revamped Website – News12.com

(Woodbury, NY, November 6, 2002) – News12.com, the official website for News 12 Networks has been re-designed and re-launched. Now, News12.com displays many new features that provide users with an even more localized experience. New features include the News 12 Movie Clock, digital video streaming, the Chopper Channel, breaking news alerts, and Sound Off!. Plus News12.com now features the only local news ticker on the internet streamed directly from the analog channel. Also, traffic and weather will now be available at a "hyper-local" level. Powered by Metro Traffic & Weather, News12.com now offers up-to-the-minute local forecasts and local traffic maps for Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, Westchester, and The Bronx.

Most exciting to the new site is the addition of the unique local news ticker. The information is gathered directly from the analog channel's "infobar" which appears as a constant stream of headlines during the newscasts. The infobar features local, national and international news headlines, extended weather forecasts, sports scores and more. Additionally, users can change News12.com's news ticker to a stock ticker that reveals the latest numbers from Wall Street.

Users can now register for Breaking News Alerts as major news stories develop.
Also brand-new to News12.com is the Sound Off! Section. Here, bulletin boards display a list of current local topics for viewers to voice their opinions. For entertainment buffs, the News 12 Movie Clock brings an added dimension to the site. By entering a local zip code, users can receive the listings of all movies and theater schedules in their specific location. Plus movie trailers and synopsis are available.

Web users need not go elsewhere for national and international news. To balance News 12's award-winning local coverage, News12.com has teamed up with MSNBC to bring users the latest national and international headlines.

"The re-launch of News12.com serves as a major enhancement to the News 12 Networks." says David Kirschner, General Manager of News 12 Interactive, "This website will allow users to receive more in-depth information about their community. Plus, with MSNBC's national and international headlines on our site, News 12.com can inform from the local to the global level."

The new design allows users of News12.com to have access to more in-depth information than ever before. The Chopper Channel allows users an inside look at the network's aerial source for breaking news. Plus it provides detailed information about the aircraft, and features video tours that put the user in the cockpit. Additionally, the site features an archive section that will allow viewers to access the latest News 12 reports on popular topics such as education, health, and environment.
