WE tv to Host On-Site Casting Calls for "Bridezillas" and "My Fair Wedding with David Tutera," sponsored by Cox Communications
WE tv Wedding Expert David Tutera to Host Discussion on Planning a Wedding or Special Event
NEW YORK, NY – June 30, 2010 – WE tv and Essence magazine have partnered for the second consecutive year to offer exclusive activities around WE tv’s bridal programming at the annual Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, July 2-4. At a specially designed WE tv hospitality lounge, the network will host on-site casting calls, sponsored by Cox Communications, for two of its popular original wedding series, "Bridezillas" and "My Fair Wedding with David Tutera." The network’s wedding expert and series host, David Tutera, will also be on hand to meet with potential show candidates and share his advice on planning a wedding or special event.
The "Bridezillas" casting call will take place on Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3 from 1-4 pm. The "My Fair Wedding" casting call will occur on Sunday, July 4 from 1-4 pm. As a sponsor of the casting calls, pre-registered Cox customers will receive VIP access to the auditions.
In addition, Tutera and Essence.com beauty editor Tia Williams will host an interactive session for brides-to-be on Sunday, July 4 from 12-12:45 pm. Tutera will share his top 10 wedding tips from his new book, "The Big White Book of Weddings: The How-To Guide for the Savvy, Stylish Bride" and answer questions on wedding planning and execution. Williams will share her knowledge about key beauty regiments and popular wedding day looks and trends.
This partnership is the result of an ongoing relationship between WE tv and Essence magazine. The network’s popular bridal programming receives nearly 30% of its viewership from African American women*.
All WE tv activities will happen at the network’s hospitality lounge located inside the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. This year’s Essence Music Festival includes performances from Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson and Alicia Keys, among others.
