IFC Films Unveils a Bold Brand Refresh New York-Based Film Distributor to Rebrand As Independent Film Company Under a Larger Umbrella of IFC Entertainment Group

NEW YORK, NY – May 6, 2025 – Today, IFC Films, one of the leading distribution companies in the U.S., announced the launch of a fresh rebrand.  The New York-based company that has been at the forefront of thought-provoking, auteur-driven films for 25 years will embrace a bold new brand identity – Independent Film Company (IFC).  As part of the rebrand, the company revealed a new logo and a customized audio logo created by Adam “Adrock” Horovitz of the Beastie Boys.

Independent Film Company will fall under a newly named umbrella of IFC Entertainment Group, formalizing the integrated structure of AMC Networks’ four distinct film verticals. The multi-faceted entertainment group, helmed by Scott Shooman, includes Independent Film Company, IFC Center, RLJE, and the premiere horror streamer Shudder. NEW YORK – May 1, 2025 – Today, Acorn TV released the official trailer from the gripping art world crime drama, Art Detectives, starring and executive produced by Stephen Moyer (True Blood, Sexy Beast). Set to premiere with two episodes on Monday, June 9 in the US and Canada and with additional episodes dropping weekly on Mondays, the six-episode series revolves around the Heritage Crime Unit, a police department hired to solve murders connected to the world of art and antiques.

The series will have its world premiere at SeriesFest: Season 11 in Denver, CO on Saturday, May 3, where the first episode will be screening at the Sie FilmCenter at 4:15pm MT. Following the screening, star and executive producer Stephen Moyer and executive producer Paul Powell will participate in a discussion moderated by The Wrap’s Emily Vogel.

In Art Detectives, art-loving DI Mick Palmer (Moyer) and straight-talking DC Shazia Malik (Nina Singh – Virdee, The Lazarus Project) together solve murders connected to the world of art and antiques, from Old Master paintings, to Banksy street art, medieval manuscripts and collectible vinyl.

Each episode follows Mick and Shazia as they navigate a rich and colorful world driven by greed, obsession, lust and revenge. The eight-episode limited series starring Emmy® Award-winner Eric McCormack debuts with a two-episode premiere on Tuesday, June 17 on Shudder and AMC+, with new episodes releasing weekly on Tuesdays. Hell Motel sees a group of 10 true crime obsessives invited to the opening weekend of the newly renovated Cold River Motel, the site of a 30-year-old unsolved Satanic Mass Murder. History repeats itself when the guests get stranded and start getting knocked off one by one during a murder spree that grows exponentially more gruesome than the original with each kill.

AMC and AMC+ are excited to share a sneak-peek clip from the upcoming Season 3 finale of the acclaimed noir thriller Dark Winds. The series stars Zahn McClarnon (The Son, Westworld, Fargo), Kiowa Gordon (The Red Road, Roswell, New Mexico), Jessica Matten (Rez Ball, Tribal, Burden of Truth) and Deanna Allison (Accused, Edge of America), along with a new guest star roster toplined by Jenna Elfman (Dharma & Greg, Fear the Walking Dead) and Bruce Greenwood (The Fall of the House of Usher, The Resident). NEW YORK, NY – April 24, 2025 – AMC Networks’ upcoming Jonathan Glatzer drama, The Audacity, has officially begun production in Vancouver, Canada. Thailey Roberge (Reginald the Vampire – Bio) and Ava Marie Telek (Happy Face – Bio) complete the cast as Tess Phister and Jamison Park-Hoffsteader, respectively. Randall Park (Fresh Off The Boat, Always Be My Maybe, WandaVision – Bio) guest stars as Gabe, the qualm-free CFO of a data mining operation.

Set inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, The Audacity takes on the warped dreams, outsized egos, and ethical lapses of the self-styled inventors of the future. In a world of jaded billionaires, psychiatrist-gurus, bio-hacked tech bros, AI labs and disillusioned teens being optimized in elite private schools, an audacious data-mining CEO (Magnussen) strives to turn insight and influence into profit and power. A darkly comedic drama that confronts reality, privacy, and the delusions fueling our ever-changing world.

NEW YORK – April 23, 2025 – Shudder today announced a multiple project pickup deal with modern-day horror icons and drag superstars The Boulet Brothers.  Dubbed “divinely grotesque” by Entertainment Weekly, Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet’s Emmy-nominated reality competition series, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, has been renewed for a seventh season, and the show’s all-star spinoff format The Boulet Brothers Dragula: Titans, has been renewed for season two. Shudder has also picked up an all-new holiday special, The Boulet Brothers’ Holiday of Horrors, featuring co-host David Dastmalchian. Production began this week on season two of Titans, which will be the first to premiere later this year on Shudder and AMC+.

AMC Networks Promotes Eric De Cholnoky To Executive Vice President Of Distribution & Business Development

NEW YORK – April 22, 2025 – AMC Networks today announced that Eric de Cholnoky has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Distribution & Business Development. In this role, de Cholnoky – who joined AMC Networks in 2015 – will run a distribution team responsible for representing the company’s popular and critically acclaimed programming and brands to some of its most important and longstanding commercial and distribution partners. Reporting to Chief Commercial Officer Kim Kelleher, he takes over for distribution EVP Roy Cho, who is leaving the company at the end of the month.

“Eric is a proven leader and terrific colleague. We are thrilled to elevate him into this important role and look forward to his leadership of this highly functioning team,” Kelleher said. “We continue to deliver great value to our distribution partners across a variety of platforms and differentiate AMC Networks through our popular and high-quality programming and franchises.
