IFC will premiere its controversial Original Documentary Does Your Soul Have a Cold? on Monday, October 22 at 9pm ET/ 10pm PT. Does Your Soul Have a Cold? offers a unique look into the impact of exporting American definitions of depression and the use of antidepressants to the ancient culture of Japan over the last five years. This documentary takes an intimate and compassionate look into the everyday lives of Japanese people who take antidepressants, exploring their personal histories and their hopes and fears, and ultimately offering a perspective on the larger socio-cultural issues. Does Your Soul Have a Cold? is directed by Mike Mills (Thumbsucker) and executive produced by IFC’s Debbie DeMontreux and Evan Shapiro.
