NEW YORK – February 26, 2026 – Independent Film Company announced today that they have acquired the U.S. rights to the acclaimed Sundance hit, THE SHITHEADS, written, directed, and produced by Macon Blair, marking his third feature film following THE TOXIC AVENGER and I DON’T FEEL AT HOME IN THIS WORLD ANYMORE. With a story by Macon and Alex Orr, the no-holds-barred road trip comedy stars Dave Franco and O’Shea Jackson Jr., serving as Producer and Executive Producer respectively. The ensemble cast also includes memorable performances from Kiernan Shipka, Nicholas Braun and Peter Dinklage. Independent Film Company is set to release the film theatrically this Summer.
Blair’s raucous ride-along film trails two unqualified bozos (Dave Franco and O’Shea Jackson Jr. ) who are hired to transfer a rich teen (Mason Thames) to rehab when their straightforward gig quickly spirals into dangerous mayhem.
