AMC Celebrates the Power of Love With “Love AMC Style,” February 14-15

JERICHO, NY, FEBRUARY 6, 2004 – In the movies, love takes many forms, from tough gangster love in the Oscar®-winning BUGSY and PRIZZI'S HONOR, to 'Brat Pack' love in SHE'S HAVING A BABY, to love that never dies in SOMEWHERE IN TIME. This Valentine's Day, AMC invites viewers to celebrate the spectacle of love and all its varied stories during the network's two-day festival, 'Love AMC Style,' with back-to-back showings of some of film's most resonant and timeless love affairs, airing February 14-15.

'Love AMC Style' commences at 6:30 AM with Fritz Lang's 1941 film WESTERN UNION, starring Randolph Scott, Robert Young and Virginia Gilmour; and continues at 8:30 AM with the 1947 romantic western ANGEL AND THE BADMAN starring John Wayne as an injured black hat nursed back to health by idealistic Quaker Gail Russell. Next at 10:30 AM, Clark Gable, Jane Russell and Robert Ryan enter a love triangle during a cattle drive in THE TALL MEN (1955), directed by Raoul Walsh. At 1:00 PM, Charlton Heston plays the title role of WILL PENNY (1968), who shares his cabin with a stranded Joan Hackett and her child; and the Duke returns as America's first consul to Japan and meets Aiko Endo as the Geisha in the 1958 love story THE BARBARIAN AND THE GEISHA at 3:15 PM. At 5:15 PM, Warren Beatty portrays Bugsy Siegel and his real life lover Annette Bening stars as the bad girl who steals his heart in Barry Levinson's 1991 gangster love story BUGSY.

At 8:00 PM, Al Pacino is Frank Slade, a blind, retired army colonel who hires Charlie Simms (Chris O'Donnell), a poor college student on the verge of expulsion, to take care of him over Thanksgiving weekend in SCENT OF A WOMAN (also 1:45 am). AMC closes Valentine's Day as Robert Redford pairs with Debra Winger and Daryl Hannah in the 1986 romantic comedy LEGAL EAGLES at 11:15 PM.

On Sunday, February 15, AMC re-airs THE BARBARIAN AND THE GEISHA and BUGSY, followed by 1964's MY FAIR LADY at noon, starring the radiant Audrey Hepburn as diamond-in-the-rough Eliza Doolittle to Rex Harrison's Henry Higgins, who is charged with turning Eliza into a proper lady. Also on Sunday at 3:30 PM is SOMEWHERE IN TIME, starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour in a love story that extends beyond time itself; and Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter in the mismatched love story ONCE AROUND (1991) at 5:30 PM. At 8:00 PM, Kevin Bacon and Elizabeth McGovern star in the coming-of-age love story for the 'Brat Pack' generation in John Hughes' SHE'S HAVING A BABY (1988), followed by PRIZZI'S HONOR (1985) at 10:00 PM, with Jack Nicholson, Kathleen Turner and Anjelica Huston in a film that pits two hired killers, who also happen to be lovers, against each other. Sunday closes with re-airings of SHE'S HAVING A BABY and ONCE AROUND.
