AMC Expands Marketing Department to Lead and Manage the Growth of its New Brand Positioning “TV For Movie People”

Catherine Moran Joins AMC as Vice President, Consumer/Trade Marketing and Brand Management; Jodi Lipe Joins as Vice President, Trade Marketing and Promotions

JERICHO, NEW YORK, March 3, 2003 – To evolve and manage the network's new brand identity of "TV For Movie People," and to create strategic marketing partnerships for advertisers and support the launch of original programming, AMC has expanded its marketing department and hired Catherine Moran as Vice President, Consumer/Trade Marketing and Brand Management, and Jodi Lipe as Vice President of Trade Marketing and Promotions, it was announced today by Isabel Miller, Senior Vice President, Marketing, AMC.

"The additions of these executives transform the department into a full-service, commercial television marketing division, which will effectively service the needs of advertisers, and oversee the growth of the brand and original programming across all platforms," Miller said. "Catherine is a proven leader with exceptional strategic marketing and creative management abilities. The depth of her industry knowledge will serve as an enormous asset for AMC as it moves forward in cultivating its new brand. Jodi has a proven track record in creating promotion marketing campaigns. Her experience in developing sponsorship packages and promotional campaigns will play an integral role as the network and advertisers target this coveted demographic."

Catherine Moran, who will report to Miller, will lead the strategic and creative development, as well as media planning and buying for all consumer and trade advertising and oversee market research projects. In addition, Moran will manage the AMC brand across all media platforms and all lines of business to ensure consistency. She will make sure that all internal and external communications are executed within the parameters of the new brand positioning, "TV For Movie People."

Prior to joining AMC, Moran had a succession of positions at Sci Fi Network including Acting Vice President of Marketing and Director of Consumer Advertising. There, she led and directed multiple creative and media agencies on all consumer and trade level marketing and promotions. Moran is a graduate of Baruch College, City University of New York, with a B.A. in Political Science.

Jodi Lipe is responsible for creating all trade marketing efforts for AMC, as well as all consumer and ad sales promotions. She will work closely with AMC's ad sales team in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles to develop on-air and off-air sponsorship packages that will reach the clients' objectives by creating brand-defining promotions and marketing opportunities. Lipe will also work with AMC programming to identify additional sponsorship opportunities while AMC original series and specials are in production. She reports to Isabel Miller.

Lipe worked at Viacom Plus, the company's integrated marketing and sales division, where she launched and co-managed the West Coast office. During her tenure, Lipe developed and created broad, cross-platform integrated marketing initiatives for partners and advertisers. She previously worked at Excite, Inc. as Director, Consumer Marketing and Promotions as head of off-line and on-line marketing and promotional projects, and also spent five years at Cartoon Network in various promotion/marketing positions. Lipe holds a B.S. in Marketing from New Hampshire College.

To support Catherine Moran, Catherine Goldman has been hired as Director of Advertising who will direct relationships of all outside creative and media agencies, as well as maintain day-to-day logistics. Samira Qureshi has been hired as Assistant Director, Trade Marketing and Promotions. Reporting to Jodi Lipe, Qureshi will help Lipe develop promotions for advertisers, and serves as the day-to-day logistical contact for AMC's ad sales teams. In addition, she will execute added-value sponsorship programs, and be instrumental in both upfront and scatter packaging.
