AMC NETWORKS INTERNATIONAL – LATIN AMERICA APPOINTS NEW HEADS OF MARKETING/ COMMUNICATIONS, LEGAL AND HUMAN RESOURCES

New York, NY – 23 January 2015 – AMC Networks International – Latin America (AMCNI – Latin America) today announced new appointments in Marketing/Communications, Legal and Human Resources. The new executives will be based in the company’s Miami office and will report to Eduardo Zulueta, Managing Director of AMC Networks International – Latin America & Iberia.

Luisa Valor-Casali, a senior marketing executive with more than 20 years of experience in media and entertainment in Latin America, joins the company as Vice President of Marketing and Communications, overseeing all marketing, on-air promotion and public relations for the AMCNI – Latin America channels, including AMC, Sundance Channel, El Gourmet, Casa Club, Film&Arts and Europa Europa. She was previously Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Discovery Networks Latin America.

Dainira Falk has been named Head of Legal Affairs for AMCNI-Latin America. Falk also joins the company from Discovery Communications, where she was Director of Legal.

Elisabete Schaffler, a seasoned human resources executive with more than two decades of experience in Latin America and North America, joins the company as Director of Human Resources.

“Following the recent launch of AMC and amidst the growing strength and resonance of our other brands and services in the market, we continue to bolster our senior management team to take advantage of AMC Networks International’s momentum in Latin America,” said Zulueta. “Luisa, Dainira and Elisabete are seasoned, talented executives, and their significant experience and relationships in the region will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our brands in this growing market.”

Luisa Valor-Casali joins the company from Discovery Networks Latin America, where she was Vice President of Marketing and Communications, responsible for developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies, defining brand value proposition and audience building strategies for the Latin American and U.S.-Hispanic market. Prior to Discovery, Casali was head of Marketing for the Disney Consumer Products Division in Venezuela, Miami and Burbank, responsible for expanding brand equity to grow market share in the licensing market. She began her career at Nabisco, Inc. as a brand manager. She is an MBA graduate from the University of Miami and is a member of the National Association of Professional Women.

Dainira Falk was previously Director of Legal for Discovery Communications, with a focus on providing legal counsel for the company’s Latin American business. Before Discovery, Falk was an associate in the Latin America Practice Group of White & Case LLP in Miami. Falk holds law degrees from UBA in Venezuela and Duke University Law School.

Elisabete Schaffler has more than 20 years of experience in Latin America and North America. Most recently, she was the senior Latin America Human Resources Manager for Anixter Inc, a leading global supplier of communications and security products. She has also held positions at Neoris, a subsidiary of CEMEX, a global service company that provides business and IT value-added consulting; SFG Latin America, a multi-national financial services firm; and McAfee Inc. in Latin America. She has a graduate degree in Marketing Administration from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado – São Paulo, Brazil and has a graduate degree in Psychology from Universidade Paulista – São Paulo, Brazil. She is a Member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
