New York, NY – 2 March 2015 – AMC Networks International – Latin America (AMCNI – Latin America) today announced the appointment of Hector Costa as Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales. Costa will be based in the company’s Miami office and will report to Eduardo Zulueta, Managing Director of AMC Networks International – Latin America & Iberia. Today’s announcement follows the recent news of the launch of AMC on DIRECTV throughout Latin America.
Eduardo Zulueta stated, “Since the acquisition of Chellomedia in February 2014, AMC Networks’ Latin American division has significantly expanded and strengthened its executive team. The appointment of Hector, a 20-year industry veteran and widely respected ad sales leader, demonstrates our commitment to advancing the business and our continued growth throughout the region.”
Costa will oversee all ad sales activities for the AMCNI – Latin America channels, including AMC, Sundance Channel, El Gourmet, Casa Club, Film&Arts and Europa Europa.
Before joining the AMC Networks International – Latin America team, Costa served as SVP of Advertising Sales for Fox International Channels Latin America and as SVP and Managing Director of Fox Networks. As head of Ad Sales, Costa managed more than 22 cable channels, including Fox Sports, FX and National Geographic. At Fox, a company he joined in 1998, he grew advertising revenues exponentially and opened regional offices throughout Latin America. As head of digital, he is credited with leading the division’s rapid growth through commercializing its site inventory, mobile applications and OTT products, as well as the exclusive representation in the region of prominent digital brands such as Facebook, LinkedIn and WSJ.
Costa is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. He received his Masters of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Florida and his Bachelors of Marketing and International Business at Florida Atlantic University.
