Movie-Centric Talk Show Based on Course Taught by Professor Richard Brown
Movies 101 Season Two Scheduled to Premiere in April 2006
New York, NY, January 25, 2006 – AMC announced today that the network will bring back its original movie talk show, Movies 10 for a second season. Based on a popular course taught by Professor Richard Brown, Movies 101 features interviews with guests from Hollywood’s most acclaimed talent roster. The series will return for eight half-hour episodes beginning in April 2006.
Today’s announcement comes after a record-breaking year for AMC. The network’s new investment in film titles, programming stunts and specials and original programming had a tremendous impact in 2005, providing AMC with its strongest year ever in delivery of household and key demos in every daypart.
“Movies 101 takes our viewers on a weekly cinematic adventure as Professor Brown interviews a line-up of diverse and always intriguing A-list Hollywood personalities,” said Rob Sorcher, AMC’s Executive Vice President of Programming and Production. “We are excited to have Movies 101 return to AMC for a second season, further cementing our commitment to providing viewers with informed and entertaining original programming that celebrates movie culture.”
Last season on Movies 101 Professor Richard Brown interviewed an array of today’s biggest names in film including George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Kline, Whoopi Goldberg, Martin Scorsese, Daniel Day-Lewis, Jennifer Connelly and Willem Dafoe.
City Lights Media produces the series for AMC.
