AMC Showcases Oscar-Winning Actress Audrey Hepburn in the “Absolutely Audrey” Marathon on Saturday, June 1

JERICHO, NY, May 23, 2002 – On Saturday, June 1, AMC pays tribute to Academy Award®-winning actress Audrey Hepburn with the "Absolutely Audrey" Marathon. Showcasing five of her best-loved performances, the line-up includes the Oscar® winners BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S, SABRINA and ROMAN HOLIDAY.

The marathon begins at 9:00 AM (ET) with the suspenseful WAIT UNTIL DARK (1967). Hepburn earned a Best Actress Oscar® nomination for her portrayal of a blind woman terrorized by drug dealers (Alan Arkin and Richard Crenna) looking for a hidden heroin-filled doll. Efrem Zimbalist Jr. co-stars.

Next, at 10:55 AM (ET), Hepburn is the incomparable sophisticate Holly Golightly in the Academy Award®-winning BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S (1961), based on the novella by Truman Capote. Keeping her complicated past a secret, Golightly charms her way through Manhattan until it all catches up with her. George Peppard co-stars. Nominated for five Academy Awards®, including Hepburn for Best Actress, the film won for Best Score and Best Song ("Moon River").

In Billy Wilder's romantic comedy SABRINA (1954), airing at 12:55 PM (ET), Hepburn plays a chauffeur's daughter courted by the playboy son (William Holden) of her father's employer. When the elder son (Humphrey Bogart) attempts to thwart their romance, he falls in love with her. The film earned a total of six Oscar® nominations, including Best Director and Best Screenplay, and won for Best Costumes.
