JERICHO, NY, July 14, 2004 – With Monsterfest 2004, October 24-31, AMC will once again be the prime destination for horror movie-lovers, providing an unparalleled cornucopia of celluloid scares for the creepiest holiday on the calendar. The cable network's eight-day Halloween festival will feature the premieres of two original productions – the new reality series FILMFAKERS and the special SCARIEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME – as well as many of Hollywood's most popular crowd-chillers, including the entire THE OMEN and AMITYVILLE HORROR film franchises.

AMC's Monsterfest 2004 will put a uniquely witty and suspenseful spin on the popular reality genre with the premiere of AMC's new original series, FILMFAKERS, on Wednesday, October 27 at 10 PM.

FILMFAKERS puts an unsuspecting trio of actors on a fake movie set – all to see how much they can take in an effort to make the best of their first break in Hollywood. What they don't know is that the director, producer, crew and co-cast members are all comedic actors and improvisational experts out to create elaborate and bizarre situations that truly test the mettle of the wannabe stars. The debut episode of FILMFAKERS, "Croc Park," places the duped actors on the set of a "fake" horror film about a ravenous ingénue-eating crocodile as the recurring group of FilmFakers alternately play the inept director, a former child-star and an unstable "method-actor."

Monsterfest 2004 also features Entertainment Weekly and AMC Celebrate 20: SCARIEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME, the first of five original specials co-produced with Entertainment Weekly to mark the network's 20th anniversary. Premiering October 24 at 10 PM, the special chronicles the 20 most frightening movies in history, as selected by Entertainment Weekly's renowned editorial team. The forever-frightening scenes are illustrated with clips, behind-the-scenes footage and celebrity interviews chronicling films including THE EXORCIST, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, JAWS, HALLOWEEN, THE SHINING, THE OMEN, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and many more.

As always, AMC's Halloween fest spotlights a wealth of popular horror films. The festival kicks off October 24 with back-to-back airings of the films in THE OMEN trilogy. The 1976 movie that introduced audiences to the angelic face and demonic heart of Damien and its sequels will also be the subject of the one-hour special, BACKSTORY: THE OMEN. The film line-up also includes: AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (1981) STEPHEN KING'S SILVER BULLET (1985), SCREAM 2 (1997) and MIMIC 2 (2001).
