ANNE RICE’S INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE IS #1 WITH FANS ON ALL PLATFORMS

The Walking Dead and Interview with the Vampire Drive AMC+ to Highest Two Days of Series Viewership and Subscriber Acquisition | Series Premieres as the #1 New Ad-Supported Cable Drama of 2022, Giving AMC Two of the Top Three Series in the Category, along with Dark Winds

NEW YORK, NY, October 7, 2022 – The series premiere of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire on October 2 is a stellar performer on AMC+, AMC and with critics and fans. The premiere of Interview and the return of The Walking Dead drove AMC+ to the most successful two days in its history on Sunday and Monday and highest levels of series viewership and new subscriber acquisition ever. The premiere makes Interview with the Vampire the #1 new drama on ad-supported cable in 2022, giving AMC two of the top three series in that category, along with Dark Winds.

On AMC+, the series premiere now ranks as the #1 new series launch ever, in both viewership and acquisition, tripling the early activity of the previous record-holder in these categories, Dark Winds. Seventy five percent of first streams on AMC+ Sunday were new customers watching The Walking Dead and/or Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire premieres. Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire also now ranks alongside The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul as one of the top three new or returning series on AMC+ based on its opening weekend performance.

On AMC, 1.2 million viewers watched the premiere of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, including 493k adults 25-54, in Nielsen live+3 ratings.

New episodes of The Walking Dead will be available a week early on AMC+, with the exception of the series finale, which will be celebrated with a live screening and fan event at The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on November 20, followed by an expanded live episode of Talking Dead.

New episodes of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, which has received strong critical acclaim and currently has a 98 rating on Rotten Tomatoes, are also available a week early on AMC+. The first season of seven episodes will run through November 13 and will be followed by the second series in Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe – Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, which will premiere as an AMC+ exclusive on January 5, 2023.
