Baseball Fans Strip Down, Lather Up and Sing in the Shower on Fox Sports Net

"Take Me Out to the Ballgame" Never Sounded Like This in the Old Spice High Endurance Shower, Sing and Win Sweepstakes

(CHICAGO) – What happens when you bring a portable shower to a sports bar and offer patrons a chance to win free tickets to see their hometown baseball team in action?

Answer: some really bad singing.

Fox Sports Net and Old Spice have teamed up to celebrate baseball – and really bad singing – with a wet and wild promotion, the "Old Spice High Endurance Shower, Sing and Win" sweepstakes. For the next month (July – August), Fox Sports Net viewers will see baseball fans at local sports bars jump in the shower (donning proper bathing attire, of course) to sing their rendition of the classic, "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." And the best of the best (or some might say, "worst of the worst") will be televised on Fox Sports Net during the network's live game coverage. Two sample spots can be viewed online at www.showersingandwin.com.

"We are delighted to provide baseball fans in the Chicago area with an interactive, slightly off-the-wall opportunity to showcase their team spirit and have the chance to become part of a Fox Sports Net game telecast," said Nancy Newman, Vice President of Integrated Marketing for Rainbow Sports Networks.

For the "Old Spice High Endurance Shower, Sing and Win" sweepstakes in Chicago, Fox Sports Net visited the Cubby Bear where 12 guys participated in a karaoke-type contest singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" while using Old Spice High Endurance soap in the shower.

Local winners included Justin Coons, Jeff Steinfeldt, David Dvorak and Danny Salvatierra, all hailing from Chicago, IL. For stripping down, lathering up with Old Spice High Endurance soap, and exercising their vocal chords, these soapy singers received a Fox Sports Net Prize Pack and the chance to win four tickets to see their local team in action.

During three upcoming Cubs telecasts on Fox Sports Net Chicago (July 23 vs. Philadelphia-1:00 PM, July 31 vs. San Diego-1:00 PM and August 13 vs. Houston-1:00 PM), viewers will see five different spots in each game showcasing this irreverent promotion and details on how viewers at home can enter and win. However, viewers do not need to sing to win.

Consumers who prefer to keep their singing in the shower to themselves can join in on the fun by visiting www.showersingandwin.com and completing the online entry form. Online entrants will have the chance to win two (2) season tickets for the 2003 baseball season, tickets to individual home games, an Old Spice Prize Pack, which features new Old Spice High Endurance soap, or a Fox Sports Net Prize Pack, which includes a variety of Fox Sports Net apparel. Deadline for entry is August 15, 2002. For official rules and entry details, visit www.showersingandwin.com.
