Beyonce, Michelle Branch, Blondie and The Bangles Headline WE: Women’s Entertainment’s Month-Long Music Celebration,

Music Series Includes Exclusive Interviews and Concerts Every Wednesday Night in January

LOS ANGELES, CA, January 8, 2004 – WE: WOMEN’S ENTERTAINMENT invites viewers to start the New Year on a high note with the network’s third annual WE GOT THE BEAT music series, premiering January 7th. Every Wednesday at 10:00 PM ET, top female musicians invite viewers to get up close and personal with revealing interviews and exclusive concerts. Viewers have a chance to reminisce and sing along with two of rock’s hottest girl bands of the ’80s.

The WE GOT THE BEAT line-up is as follows (all times ET):

Blondie’s Back – January 7 at 10:00 PM ET
One of rock’s leading ladies, Blondie makes a comeback in this concert filmed in the city where she got her big break – New York City. Viewers can tune in to all of Blondie’s best hits, including Call Me, Rapture, Heart of Glass, One Way or Another, and many more.

When I Was a Girl: The Singers – January 14 at 10:00 and 10:30 PM
The critically-acclaimed series, “When I Was a Girl,” returns with encore presentations featuring today’s hottest musicians as they share their memories of childhood. The women profiled include Melissa Etheridge, Macy Gray, Donna Summer, Jill Scott, India.Arie, Tanya Tucker, Kelly Rowland, Tori Amos and Joan Jett.

rocktalk – January 21 at 10:00 and 10:30 PM

WE’s original series, “rocktalk” returns with all-new interviews. Singing sensation Beyonce Knowles will be profiled in an exclusive half-hour special dedicated to the former Destiny’s Child lead singer. Another premiere episode of “rocktalk” will feature Michelle Branch and Tracy Chapman. With clips from their chart-topping videos, and intimate one-on-one interviews, viewers will learn what inspired these artists and how they overcame obstacles on the path to superstardom.

The Bangles at the House of Blues – January 28 at 10:00 PM
WE invites viewers to rediscover one of the greatest girl groups in pop music history. Tune in for a little nostalgia when The Bangles play favorites including Walk Like an Egyptian, Eternal Flame, Manic Monday and more.
