Kellen Winslow and Billy Ray Smith Starting Saturday, Aug. 30
College football returns to Fox Sports Net and the network’s new-look pre-game show reports all the happenings in college football each Saturday. COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY KICKOFF is regularly telecast 30 minutes prior to FSN’s first college game of the day and provides all the highlights and scores from that day’s action. The show debuts Saturday, Aug. 30 at 3:30 PM, before pre-season No. 1 Oklahoma takes on North Texas.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY KICKOFF is hosted by Mike Goldberg, who makes his FSN national debut. Goldberg has worked collegiate events regionally for FSN and last season was the play-by-play man for the NHL’s Minnesota Wild on Fox Sports Net North.
Goldberg’s analysts are a pair of College Football Hall of Fame members. Kellen Winslow, who spent nine outstanding seasons with the NFL’s San Diego Chargers and who is a 1995 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, returns to the show for a fourth season. The newcomer is Winslow’s former Chargers teammate Billy Ray Smith, a former Arkansas standout who spent 10 seasons with the Chargers. Smith has previously worked as a NFL analyst for FSN nationally and regionally and also for Fox Sports Radio. Winslow and Smith were teammates on the Chargers from 1983 to 1987.
Fox Sports Net’s college football schedule kicks off Thursday, Aug. 28 at 4:30 PM, when Maryland faces Northern Illinois.
