102-Game Schedule Includes Games Against Cubs, Indians, Cardinals & Yankees!

(CHICAGO)
– The finest young talent in Major League Baseball, including Magglio Ordonez, Chris Singleton, Carlos Lee, Mike Sirotka and Kip Wells, join veteran slugger Frank Thomas for an exciting new season of Chicago White Sox baseball on FOX Sports Net. This season, fans can look forward to 102 White Sox telecasts (three spring training and 99 regular season) on FOX Sports Net, once again the most White Sox games covered by any network.

The first of 99 regular season White Sox games can be seen on Tuesday, April 4 at 7:00 PM, when the Sox travel to face the defending AL West Champion Texas Rangers. FOX Sports Net will also be carrying a rare night home opener, as the south siders host the Anaheim Angels live from Comiskey Park on Friday, April 14 at 6:00 PM (a special one-hour edition of The Game Room pre-game show starts at 5:00 PM).

Prior to the start of the regular season, FOX Sports Net will bring White Sox fans three spring training games from Tucson, AZ, including a match-up against the cross-town rival Chicago Cubs on Thursday, March 16 at 2:00 PM (a special one-hour edition of The Game Room pre-game show starts at 1:00 PM). Additional spring training White Sox games on FSN include contests against the Arizona Diamondbacks (Sat., Mar. 25 at 8:00 PM) and Milwaukee Brewers (Sun., Mar. 26 at 2:00 PM).

Also, before the regular season gets underway, FOX Sports Net will give White Sox fans an inside look at this year’s squad with the 2000 White Sox Pre-Season Special premiering Saturday, March 25 at 6:30 PM. This one-hour preview of the 2000 season includes profiles on players, analysis of off-season changes, spring training developments and interviews with a number of White Sox players and manager Jerry Manuel.

All season long, The Game Room, showcasing expert analysis from former major league standout Dave Otto, will air a half-hour prior to every White Sox game on FOX Sports Net. A post-game edition of The Game Room will feature live locker room interviews, post-game analysis and manager Jerry Manuel’s post-game press conference.

Also new this season, veteran White Sox announcer Ken “Hawk” Harrelson will be joined in the booth by former White Sox outfielder and new rookie baseball analyst Darrin Jackson for all FOX Sports Net telecasts.

“Coming off a season that proved these kids can play, White Sox fans have plenty of reasons to look forward to the upcoming season,” said James J. Corno, FOX Sports Net Chicago’s Senior Vice President/General Manager. “From our pre and post-game coverage in The Game Room to FOX Sports News, we give fans more reasons to watch White Sox baseball before and after every game.”

White Sox fans will be treated to the very best match-ups on this year’s schedule, including two interleague match-ups against Sammy Sosa and the Cubs on Sunday, June 11 at 1:00 PM from Comiskey and again on Friday, July 7 at 2:20 PM from Wrigley Field. A one-hour pre-game edition of The Game Room will precede both games.

This summer’s White Sox schedule on FOX Sports Net will encompass 47 home games and 52 road contests during the regular season. Highlights include 35 match-ups against teams in the American League Central Division, with seven key games against the AL Central champion Cleveland Indians (June 12-14, June 20-22, Sept. 10). FOX Sports Net will also carry five White Sox contests against the World Series champion New York Yankees (May 17 & 24, June 16-17, June 25).

Additional highlights include 66 night games, 33 day contests, plus – FOX Sports Net will also provide Sox fans with the most games against the AL’s elite including the AL West champion Texas Rangers (Apr. 4, Aug. 2, Sept. 5-6) and the AL Wild Card winning Boston Red Sox (May 8-10, June 30, July 21-23, Sept. 27).

In addition to the two Cubs games, FOX Sports Net will be the place to catch five more interleague battles against National League foes, including a July 14 home game versus Major League Baseball’s single season home run king Mark McGwire and the St. Louis Cardinals. Other National League match-ups exclusively on FOX Sports Net feature games at defending NL Central division champ Houston Astros (June 2), a pair of games against Ken Griffey, Jr. and his new team, the Cincinnati Reds (June 6-7), plus a home game vs. regional rival Milwaukee Brewers (July 17).

Eleven regular season White Sox games on FOX Sports Net are currently scheduled to be telecast on FOX Sports Net PLUS (see attached schedule). FOX Sports Net PLUS (FSN+) telecasts are provided to FOX Sports Net affiliates and distributed to viewers when two live events are scheduled simultaneously.

Through a cooperative agreement with CLTV, inner market cable operators are given the opportunity to place FSN+ games on CLTV.
