Fox Sports Net Florida Announces Inaugural NASCAR Programming And Race Event Schedule

(Sunrise, FL) Fox Sports Net Florida’s coverage of the 2001 NASCAR season kicks off during SpeedWeeks with extensive coverage of the Daytona 500 and the premiere of weekly NASCAR programming. Weekly race telecasts, including Winston Cup qualifying, practice sessions and ARCA events, bolster Fox Sports Net’s inaugural NASCAR schedule.

Live coverage of Winston Cup practice on Feb. 9 jump starts Fox Sports Net’s NASCAR schedule. Five days of practice coverage prior to the Daytona 500 leads up to the highlight of Fox Sports Net’s NASCAR event schedule, the first-ever live coverage of the Gatorade Twin 125’s, the qualifying races for the Daytona 500, on Thursday, Feb. 15.

Four originally-produced NASCAR news and highlights studio shows comprise the core of Fox Sports Net’s local and national NASCAR coverage. FSN’s signature NASCAR show is TOTALLY NASCAR, which airs Monday through Friday from 6:00-6:30 PM. The program debuts Feb. 12 and runs through the entire NASCAR schedule, concluding on Nov. 16. Steve Byrnes, recently named a pit reporter for FOX and FX’s NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series coverage, hosts the weeknight NASCAR news show, along with insight from FOX/FX analysts Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds.

Premiering Feb. 11, NASCAR TECH airs from 10:00 to 10:30 AM and is a yearlong look at the technical side of NASCAR. NASCAR THIS MORNING airs live each Sunday from 10:30 AM-Noon, providing comprehensive pre-race coverage of that day’s NASCAR Winston Cup Series race and runs until June 24. The wrap up of all the NASCAR events each Sunday is NASCAR PRIMETIME, a 60-minute studio program Sunday evenings 9:00-10:00 PM through June 24.

“Florida is the home of NASCAR and we are thrilled to be the home of such a comprehensive schedule of exclusive live events and nightly and weekly studio programming that will give NASCAR fans a complete look at all the news, highlights and stories developing from the tracks,” said Jeff Genthner, Senior Vice President/General Manager of Fox Sports Net Florida.

Each Monday afternoon from Noon-3pm, Fox Sports Net will replay all of the NASCAR Winston Cup races airing on the FOX broadcast network and sister cable channel FX. Other race coverage includes four ARCA races in May and June.

Fox Sports Net’s nightly 11pm REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT will also provide race fans complete coverage of SpeedWeeks at Daytona beginning Friday, Feb 9 and continuing through the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18.
