Fox Sports Net Honored With 14 Local Emmy Award Nominations

Regional Sports Leader Earns Most Nominations in Network’s History

CLEVELAND – The FOX Sports Net affiliate in Ohio has received 14 local Emmy nominations in recognition of its coverage of the Cleveland CAVS and Cleveland Indians during 1999. The Cleveland Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced 14 nominations for FOX Sports Net in five different categories. Steve Liverani, senior vice president and general manager, made the announcement.

The 1999 nominations are the sixth consecutive year that FOX Sports Net has been nominated for its Indians pregame show and fifth consecutive year that coverage of both the CAVS and Indians have received nominations. FOX Sports Net’s overall coverage of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland CAVS won Emmys in 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998. The 14 nominations from 1999 are the most Emmy nominations earned by FOX Sports Net. In 1996 and 1998, the regional sports leader received eight nominations.

The Emmy Awards will be presented on Saturday, June 10th.
