Fox Sports Net Ohio Announces 2003-04 Cavaliers Telecast Schedule

Regional sports network expands its coverage of Cavaliers basketball by adding pre- and post-game shows.

CLEVELAND, OHIO – Fox Sports Net today announced that 40 regular season Cavaliers games will be telecast live during the 2003-04 NBA season, beginning with the home opener against Carmello Anthony and the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m. Fox Sports Net will telecast 30 home games from Gund Arena and 10 games from the road. Steve Liverani, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Fox Sports Net Ohio, made the announcement.

Fox Sports Net will expand its already comprehensive coverage of the team by adding two new shows this season. Jeff Phelps and Austin Carr host Cavaliers Countdown, and are joined by feature reporter Bill Needle. Cavaliers Countdown provides fans with commentary, features, and in-depth pre-game coverage of the Cavaliers 30 minutes prior to every FSN telecast. Austin Carr returns with Andy Baskin for a half-time report during home games. Baskin handles the half-time report from the road.

Cavaliers in the Post, presented by Pontiac, follows each game telecast. Andy Baskin and Austin Carr host the show from Gund Arena after home games. Once again, Baskin hosts the show from the road. Cavaliers in the Post features highlights, player interviews and analysis immediately after the game.

Michael Reghi, in his tenth year behind the microphone for Cavaliers games, handles the play-by-play duties for Fox Sports Net. His partner, Matt Guokas, returns for his seventh season as color analyst.

"As the Cavaliers prepare to embark on one of the most exciting seasons in franchise history, Fox Sports Net is thrilled to have a great line-up of programming for fans this year," said Liverani. "Fox Sports Net continues to be the place to turn for anything related to Cavaliers basketball."

"This represents the continuation of a great partnership with Fox Sports Net," said Len Komoroski, President Cleveland Cavaliers/Gund Arena Company. "We know this season will be one of the most watched seasons in Cavaliers history and we couldn’t be happier to have a partner like Fox Sports Net help deliver our product to fans throughout the state of Ohio. Our game broadcasts and pre and post game shows will also aim to satisfy the increased interest in the team with the most dynamic fan viewing experience possible."

Bob Pennell will produce the games for Fox Sports Net. Doug Johnson will direct.
