CLEVELAND – Fox Sports Net Ohio has been selected to receive the 2003 Ohio Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) State Chair Award. Steve Liverani, senior vice president and general manager, Fox Sports Net Ohio, made the announcement.
Ohio ESGR annually recognizes those individuals and organizations that demonstrate outstanding service to our nation's defense through continuing support of our National Guard and Reserve personnel. The mission of ESGR is to promote both public and private understanding of the National Guard and Reserve and to gain US employer and community support.
Fox Sports Net Ohio's on-air promotions manager and naval reserve officer, Tim Baker, nominated the company for its support and efforts during periods of active duty training.
"Supporting employees like Tim Baker and the Naval Reserve is truly an honor," said Liverani. "The men and women of the National Guard and Reserve are the real heroes, and we are proud to do whatever we can to provide them the support to defend our nation when called upon."
The award will be presented at the Ohio ESGR annual meeting on March 24 at the Hyatt on Capitol Square in Columbus.
