New York, NY – July 21, 2010 – If you think the bride and groom are the main attraction at a wedding…wait until you lay your eyes on the dessert! No truly special event is complete without a statement cake and for some couples, it’s what makes or breaks their wedding day. On Sunday, August 29 at 10pm ET / PT, WE tv’s popular series AMAZING WEDDING CAKES returns for a brand-new season with more jaw-dropping edible artistry. For the talented designers and bakers featured in the series, it’s their job to create a decadent and unbelievable visual confection that is the embodiment of the bride and groom’s wishes…no matter how over-the-top, unique and detail-oriented that might be! AMAZING WEDDING CAKES joins WE tv’s "Ultimate Wedding Sunday" night line-up with each episode featuring three bakeries. For photos, please visit http://press.wetv.com.

WE tv heads back to your favorite high-end cake shops to reveal all -new fondant-ridden, labor-intensive projects that yield some of the most awesome works of art to date. Whether it’s a traditional or non-traditional wedding cake, engagement, anniversary, bridal shower or groom’s cake, for the CakeGirls (Chicago), Merci Beaucoup Bakery (Los Angeles), Cake Alchemy (New York) and Christopher Garren’s Cakes (Orange County), no tier is too tall, no request is too crazy and no element is left inedible. Each bakery houses its own unique set of personalities and creative types, and with a job as stressful and detail-oriented as these, anything goes!

Among the many cakes viewers will see, highlights include: a bobble head groom’s cake; 80 mini swan cakes; a replica of a vintage Mustang car; a butter cream pirate ship creation; an All-American "diner"-inspired cake, with milk shake topper; a cake for a picnic wedding reception, complete with ants and a unique cake topper; a cheesecake groom’s cake depicting an actual wheel of cheese; a topsy-turvy, gravity-defying teacup cake for a bridal shower; a cake for a "Pantry" shower, where the gifts are the ingredients for a "recipe for a great marriage"; "Alice in Wonderland"– and "Edward Scissorhands"-inspired cakes; a skeleton cake for a couple getting married on Halloween; and more.

AMAZING WEDDING CAKES is produced by WE tv and Film Garden. Executive Producer for WE tv is Annabelle McDonald.
