KIDS CLUB Programming Format Now Geared To Infants Through Preschoolers

New York – September 26, 2005 -Henrietta Hippo, Freddie the Frog, Charlie the Owl and the rest of “The New Zoo Revue” gang have a new home on Mag Rack’s KIDS CLUB. Mag Rack, the original on-demand television network, has the exclusive video-on-demand rights to 12 episodes of this award-winning children’s television series. “The New Zoo Revue” launches on Mag Rack on November 3, 2005.

Originally produced 35 years ago, “New Zoo Revue” still retains its fresh approach to children’s programming through its musical comedy format and warm and colorful characters. The purpose of this FCC-friendly series is to convey the concepts of cooperation and compassion, and to inspire children to be constructive citizens of the world we live in. Many of the show’s original audience are now parents who are excited to share this television classic with their own children.

Of Mag Rack’s 20-plus program categories, KIDS CLUB has grown to become the third most popular program category with viewers. The popularity of Mag Rack’s programming with both parents and children has led to a steady growth in viewership since its launch in 2003. This trend is expected to continue with the addition of “The New Zoo Revue” and other new programming to KIDS CLUB.

Mag Rack’s KIDS CLUB has found success with its youngest viewers and has added programming to complement its new format geared to children aging from infancy to preschool. In addition to “The New Zoo Revue,” new programming includes “eebee’s adventures,” “So Smart!” and videos from Scholastic. “eebee’s adventures” is a new series designed to help parents and their infants and toddlers transform everyday play, observation, and exploration into learning that lasts. The award winning series “So Smart!” uses fully animated programming, specially selected soundtracks, and early childhood developmental expertise to introduce little ones to emotionally and intellectually stimulating experiences. Scholastic’s classic books have been brought to life with their animated and live action video series hosted by celebrity narrators including Meryl Streep.

“Our usage data tells us that we’re getting more hits on KIDS CLUB geared toward pre-school kids, which shows that parents are choosing the programming,” says Cyndy Cecil, Vice President of Programming for Mag Rack and sportskool. “We know they come to KIDS CLUB for shows that are engaging, safe and value-driven, but they also benefit from the personalization of video-on-demand.”
