Nascar Programming To Get Underway On Fox Sports Net

Winston Cup Practice Rounds from Daytona on Friday, February 9 lead off inaugural NASCAR weekend on FSN!

(CHICAGO) – Fox Sports Net’s NASCAR event programming telecast schedule commences this weekend with live action from the Winston Cup practice sessions from Daytona. FSN offers practice session coverage beginning Friday, February 9 at 9:00 AM and continues throughout the week leading up to the first-ever live telecast of the NASCAR Gatorade Twin 125’s on Thursday, February 15 at 11:00 AM. Calling the action from the booth are Mike Joy, Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds, while Dick Berggren, Steve Byrnes and Matt Yocum cover the pits and Chris Myers, Ken Squire and Jeff Hammond host the action from the set. Jeanne Zelasko serves as a roving reporter.

Four, weekly originally produced NASCAR news and highlights studio shows comprise the core of the national cable network’s NASCAR coverage. Weekly race telecasts, including Winston Cup qualifying, practice rounds and ARCA events, bolster FSN’s NASCAR schedule. Each Monday afternoon, FSN also replays all of the NASCAR Winston Cup races airing on the FOX broadcast network and sister cable channel FX. (NOTE: Due to the Chicago Blackhawks at New York Rangers game on Monday, February 19 at 12 noon, Fox Sports Net Chicago will replay the Daytona 500 on Tuesday, February 20 at 12 noon)

“This comprehensive NASCAR package furthers our commitment to providing our viewers with the high quality sports coverage they have come to expect,” said James J. Corno, Senior Vice President/General Manager for Fox Sports Net Chicago.

FSN’s signature NASCAR show is TOTALLY NASCAR, which telecasts Monday through Friday from 6:00-6:30 PM. The program debuts February 12 and runs through the entire NASCAR schedule, concluding on November 16. Steve Byrnes, recently named a pit reporter for FOX and FX’s NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series coverage, hosts the weeknight NASCAR news show, along with insight from FOX/FX analysts Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds. The show originates from studios in Charlotte and is produced by Wheeler Television.

NASCAR THIS MORNING telecasts live each Sunday from 10:30 AM-12 Noon, providing comprehensive pre-race coverage of that day’s NASCAR Winston Cup Series race. The show debuts Sunday, February 11 and runs until June 24. From 10:00 to10:30 AM, preceding NASCAR THIS MORNING, NASCAR TECH airs as a yearlong look at the technical side of NASCAR.

The wrap up of all the NASCAR events each Sunday is NASCAR VICTORY LANE, which is also produced by NASCAR Images. The live, 60-minute studio program premieres Sunday, Feb. 11, 9:00-10:00 PM local time, and runs through June 24.
